PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police are hoping the public can help identify several kids who stormed a local gas station this past Saturday night and stole everything they could grab.
On the surveillance video, one person came into the Chevron convenience store on SE 92nd and Foster. Then a second person came in and pretty soon, a large group of kids was packed into the shop. Soon, they were stealing anything they could, from drinks to gum to candy.
Carlos Garcia was working Saturday night at around 11:30 p.m. when the incident happened. He said there were 16 kids in the store. Garcia said the kids grabbed anything they could and shoved items into their pockets or simply carrying them in their hands and out the door.
"My first reaction was call police because I can't do more," he said. "I don't want to hurt them -- they're kids. I called the police. They don't stop they're just picking picking as much as they can."
As the kids were leaving the store, there was some sort of confrontation. It didn't end there, though. The thieves came back to the parking lot, which is when Garcia said they started throwing things at him. Garcia promptly grabbed a baseball bat and scared the kids off.
Portland Police are investigating. Employees at the store are hoping someone can recognize the kids and call police.
Glad these citizens are not living in a “food desert.”
Citizens should not be confined to the snacks they can afford, but to the snacks to which they are entitled. I do worry, however, that they make have gone beyond the commonsense food dictates of the Fussed Lady, and thereby be at risk for childhood obesity.

in 1960 white illegitimacy was less than 1 percent

and crime was always worse in black areas but unlike today it was still fairly safe...in fact inviting in many ways..i sure never encountered black hostility till NYC in 19
what has changed more than any thing is black attitudes towards whites and whites refusal to admit the obvious nor have a clue what to do about it
btw...we can have a similar but slightly less inclusive observation about Amerindian Latinos as a well...same inability to catch up
and at the same time white trash is falling as fast as possible in the bad direction too merging in essence with lower black culture...a future City of God scenario but here in America

America has changed greatly in race relations. Yet some don’t see it or don’t want to see it.
Barack Obama is a very visible symbol of this, as he is our first minority president. We have a black president, have had black secretaries of state, black senators and congressmen, black Supreme Court justices, black mayors and governors, etc.
There have been or are black chiefs of police in many major cities, black Fortune 500 executives, black astronauts, and on and on.
The point is, blacks and other minorities have shattered all of these glass ceilings liberals talk about. It just isn’t news anymore to hear that a black person has achieved some major goal, even to be elected president.
The rampant discrimination of the past is gone. Obama personally is a symbol of this. Yet race relations seem very bad in spite of having a black president.

I know im probably gonna come off as a bit harsh but I seriously believe these stupid kids should get jail time and a nice big stain on their futures. Perhaps no government or financial support for them and their parents would stop this nonsense.
If one of these kids get shot it’ll be tragic but understandable. If I’m a store owner and these idiots tried this I’d be much more unpleasant.
