The gun.
Trayvon was killed Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla., by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman, who told police that a confrontation with the unarmed 17-year-old led him to shoot in self-defense.
......
Mr. Cosby, a Navy veteran, said the gun empowered Mr. Zimmerman, whose actions have stirred a firestorm of debate, protests and remarks from President Obama.
......
Weve got to get the gun out of the hands of people who are supposed to be on neighborhood watch, said Mr. Cosby, whose remarks were the first he has made publicly about the case.

I'm giving him a pass here because I think he is speaking from the standpoint of a father who has lost his (only?) son --in a different way, true, but nevertheless a horrible loss. I seem to remember it was in a freeway accident where the person(s) left the scene--maybe a carjacking? Anyone?
What would be the use of a neighborhood watch in a high crime neighborhood without some protection?

When Yahaziel Israel and his good buddy hammered the head of a 50 year old white guy the other day, who stopped at a store after work and was attacked
(His injuries are severe and he is still in critical condition and now has pneumonia. 75% of his skull was damaged in the attack. The victim also has a broken arm, a broken hand, and a broken jaw.)
a few miles from where Trayvon Martin was shot, was it the hammers fault or the fact that Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the New Black Panther Party were all holding events in the area?
Sure disarm our LEOs so criminals are safe. Works great everywhere it’s been tried! /communist think
It is a shame that the thousands of blacks dying at each others hands seem to go unnoticed by Sharpton and Jackson, presumably because there is no money in those killings.
I know this is a side issue, but:
My husband and I were members of our neighborhood watch in the city, before we moved out here. I really don’t know the law in that Florida city, but in SA, members of the neighborhood watches are NOT allowed to carry a gun on their rounds.
Is Cosby aware that thugs have been “carrying” concealed since the time in history that there were weapons that could be concealed?
Here in Wisconsin, we just got the concealed carry law through last November.
The libs are in a snit about it.
Yet as long as any of them have lived, criminals always had guns on them...and it didn’t bother the libs one bit.
Now we all can carry, and they’re going to try to overturn the law as soon as they can figure out how, usually through the liberal hack courts in Madison.
Hey Cos’, you’ll take mine from my cold dead hands.
Stick to comedy.
End of Rant
Do they also issue you blue helmets, so that you are easier to spot as a target?

Take the gun out of Zimmeraman’s hand, and his life would have ended as his head was bashed into the concrete. Then there would have been no huge uproar over a Latino killed by a black.
As it was, a Latino defended himself and a black died. Cosby seemed to think it is ok to be attacked brutally along as he cannot defend himself.
What a crock. Sorry Bill, that dog don’t hunt.
Gee, thanks for the info, but that has nothing to do with the Sanford incident.
The guy called police and was heading back to his car, not to confront him.
Trayvon (legally since he was probably scare he was being followed) went after Zimmerman.
At the show I saw Bill at, he had SIX security guards. Will he share them?
There is no “right” to assault.
Trayvon unnecessarily escalated the encounter into a physical one - being asked to answer questions does not give you the right to assault the questioner and threaten him with death (”you’re gonna die tonight”).
Trayvon is the author of his own misfortune.
I think Bill is onto something here. There are billions of guns out there, but not all are involved in killing people.
There must be a “bad gun” gene that is causing all the problems. We need a government funded study to try and discover this “bad gun” gene and start testing all guns manufactured to eliminate all those bad guns before they are sold to an unsuspecting public.
Trayvon illegally assaulted Zimmerman. Asking Zimmerman a question was not illegal, sucker punching him to the ground, breaking his nose was. That was assault.
Climbing on top of the prostate Zimmerman and beating his head into the cement went further and put Zimmerman’s life in jeopardy, which then justified the shooting.
Trayvon, once he lost Zimmerman and Zimmerman was going back to hs vehicle, should have left well enough alone.
But he coludn’t, or wouldn’t...so he first punched him, then began beating him...and lost his life. Fatal mistake.
The kid didn’t see the gun until after he “downed” Zimmerman. I suppose Bill would rather have the kid beat the sh** out of him....Who is he kidding???
Yep. Look up history--many totalitarians have used criminal auxiliaries to soften up and intimidate the population.
Bill Cosby is getting old, so it’s a question of how sharp his mind is today. Bill ain’t what he used to be, unfortunately. Also, the MSM misinterprets things all the time, so it’s much better to see things through a non-edited camera/other video equipment, as much as is possible, and then come to our own conclusions.
Bill squandered his mojo with Tawana Brawley and Fat Albert.
Cosby had that covered, too. He and the Mrs. blamed it on American racism, claiming the thug came over here pure as the driven snow, and then was converted by our racists.
In his neighborhood, Cosby likely enjoys the services of a police department with a 2- or 3-second response time, and has come to think of it as the norm in the actual world. But ask him how much good it did to have armed cops, backup and all, on scene in Oakland in 2009, when one man took out four of them.
“They bring a knife, we bring a gun.” Barack Obama, Cosby’s bro.
Paraphrased, George Washington Carver said about 100+ years ago that as long as there was power to be had and money to be made from keeping the minorities believing they are victims, there would be people like the Revs. Al and Jesse.
