Scientists want to secure permission to fertilise the eggs, which have been produced from stem cells, to see whether reproduction this way is possible.
Scientists are seeking permission to fertilise lab-grown human eggsResearchers are working towards generating an infinite supply of human eggs which could allow older and infertile women to become mothers, the Independent newspaper reports.
Furthermore, some scientists have gone as far as to say the tests could uncover an ‘elixir of youth’ which would eliminate the menopause and allow older women to remain young and healthy, with the stem cell eggs replenishing their ovaries.
The teams from Edinburgh University and Harvard Medical School in the US are aiming to fertilise the eggs with human sperm, which would allow them to study them for the legal limit of 14 days, and they will not yet be transplanted into a human womb.
Edinburgh biologist Dr Evelyn Telfer told the newspaper: 'Could the fertilisation take place this year? Yes, absolutely.'
'If you can show you can get ovarian stem cells from the human ovary you then have the potential to do more for fertility preservation.'
Science, arrogantly believing they can improve on the divine design. God help us all!
Are we in such short supply of human beings that this is necessary?

Good and bad news there. Good news: No more menopausal women; Bad news: Social Security is already going broke.
Seriously though, why do this? This is man at his arrogant worst.
We are in very short supply of humans who believe their only purpose in life is to serve the powerful and do not realize they are free agents.
However, if you raise something straight from the embryonic stage and teach it that is all it’s good for, it will never leave your side and it will never complain about mistreatment.
The fact that you’d only have to feed it and clothe it makes it a relative bargain.
Since God knew this would happen, is it done without His approval?
Oh no ... we will have to put up with Cher’s and Goldie Hawn’s aging but surgically corrected bodies FOREVER.
Nothing that can be done in sin can win God’s approval.
But, it could be allowed to show what man is capable of when he tries to be independent of his Creator.
So you believe God allows sin to happen?

So we kill the embryos we don’t want, and manufacture those we do? I think it was the 60’s when we had that saying... “Stop the world, I want to get off!”

I really don’t know. As a matter of fact, I don’t really know if the story is true or not.
But He also knows those free will decisions and their results, before they are made, right?
This is done in the service of Sandra Fluke and her ilk, who wish to postpone pregnancy until they have well-established careers; and who wish to fulfill the claim that "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle."
Like most liberals, they fail to include the element of time in their calculations, and of what humans really are like: first, who wants to have a mom who is 70-ish when they are in their mid-teens, and second, I can see great problems with alienation from society and consequent resentment on the part of the children when they learn that they were conceived unnaturally and that (likely enough) they have no possibility of finding who their "mother" and "father" are.
Reductionism is dehumanizing to those who are the subject of analysis and experiment; and leads to a Luciferian pride on the part of the experimenters. I supposed that the experimenters here flatter themselves that these techniques disprove the existence of the soul.
