Anti-abortion climate 'will deter new generation of doctors' (UK)
The Guardian ^ | April 1, 2012 | Ben Quinn and Sarah Boseley

Posted on 04/01/2012 10:15:45 PM PDT by Pinkbell

A new generation of doctors will be put off from becoming involved in abortion services by high-profile protest campaigns and a political "witch-hunt", providers fear.

The current climate is already causing anxiety among doctors who are concerned that their practice will be called into question, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) said, as activists behind a new campaign to demonstrate outside abortion clinics were joined at one protest in London by a Catholic bishop.

The warning comes as the BPAS and pro-choice campaigners say they feel "under siege" after the government ordered an unannounced inspection of more than 250 clinics in England, claiming as many as a fifth were pre-signing consent forms for terminations. The inspections by officials from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) were said to have found evidence of blank forms being signed in anticipation of women seeking a termination. Although doctors do not have to see the woman in person, they must certify that they are aware of her circumstances and why she wants to go ahead with the procedure.

A spokesperson for the BPAS said: "Abortion is a vital yet stigmatised area of women's healthcare which few doctors train in. The current politicisation of abortion provision is likely to make it even harder to recruit a future generation of abortion doctors who are prepared to provide the care that a third of women will need in the course of their lifetimes."

Awwww....... Isn't that a shame?

There's only one solution. Shut the prolifers up by making their hateful, misogynist language illegal Sadly, I wouldn't put that past the radical left.

Drs.who make money off of abortion ( and it’s a lot of money ) are generally the worst doctors.

The bottom of their class, problems with alcohol and drugs, and foreign medical graduates with no job.

One could only hope - although seriously I think it’s a futile hope.

Orwellian.

The British pregnancy advisory service is worried about not enough docs to do abortions.

The insane are running the asylum.

There is hope. They are becoming desperate because more people are becoming pro-life.

They have no constitution guaranteeing free speech, they only have laws that can change whenever they want. No guaranteed rights that laws cannot override. Total legal relativism.

It’s why libs like Obama and Ginsburg hate out constitution for limiting what they can and can’t do.

Abortionists think they have every right to violate the laws on the books.

I don’t get it.

Abortion providers claim they are providing an important medical service to women.

Yet, when the authorities show up to make sure that the medical services are up to stuff, they kick and scream as if they’re being imposed upon.

So, they want to be medical providers, except when they don’t?

Thanks. I was wondering about what sort of of numb-nuts would want to go through med-school grind with that goal in mind.

I actually knew someone who became an abortionist. She was a feminist who wanted to serve the needs of the glorious effing sisterhood. How she managed to live with herself is a complete mystery to me.

Abortion is no good. It just seems to produce more statists.

“A new generation of doctors will be put off from becoming involved in abortion services”

If that`s the case, it sounds like a hallmark of success for the pro-life movement. So what`s the problem?

Pro-abort clinics are coming under more scrutiny... many being closed.. likely fewer abortionists in the future..

Wow.. it isn`t often in which the Tardian brings such good news all in one sitting!

I’ll take that bet!

Don’t hold your breath though - although the MSM would love you to believe the UK is already half muslim the figures disagree. The UK is 92% white anglo saxon celtic and less than 3% muslim. Muslim immigration is dropping, not rising.

actually, students are brainwashed into the pro death mindset, but then they get sick seeing tiny body parts from abortions, and if that doesn’t deter them, the inane excuses of why women insist they need to get their fifth or sixth abortion usually turns them off.

Many docs will do abortion for young teens or rape victims or if the baby is deformed, or if the life of the mom is at risk, but few can stomach it for reasons like “I stopped the pill because it made me fat”...

and no, I never did abortions...and they tried to fail me in medical school until I appealed it up, and they realized they had a civil rights case on their hands.

Did these Nimrods ever stop to consider how many generations of doctors have themselves been ABORTED?

NO cheers, unfortunately.

I was thinking the same thing. When the only platform the feminists have left to stand on is the right to destroy their offspring and are concerned about doctors not wanting to murder them for a fast buck, it’s a sick sad world.
