The rest of the country may be waiting for the U.S. Supreme Court to decide the fate of President Barack Obamas health-care law, but the Internal Revenue Service is wasting no time.
It wants to add new agents to hunt down tax cheats and still plans to spend $303.5 million building a system to oversee the effects of the health law even though its future is unclear.
As for the new IRS workers, the Government Accountability Office said the total will be about 4,500, with nearly 4,000 (3,997) slated for enforcement.
On the $303.5 million for health care, the GAO said the IRS will continue the development of new systems and modifications of existing systems required to support new tax credits, as well as other IRS enforcement systems for health reform.
And thats where the health reform law gets really tricky for taxpayers.
Nina E. Olson, who runs the Taxpayer Advocate Office {TAO}, a federal IRS overseer, has warned the new health law may require more IRS intrusions on taxpayer privacy, to determine whether individuals got appropriate health coverage, and whether small businesses provide affordable coverage, all of which is defined by the government.
Thats because the health-reform laws individual mandate requires almost all legal residents of the United States to have adequate health-care coverage, as determined by the federal government. And it requires businesses of all sizes to provide affordable coverage as defined by the federal government.
Health reforms insurance mandate says if you do not have adequate insurance, youll have to pay a fine as part of your tax return. If your business doesnt provide affordable coverage, youll have to pay a fine to the IRS, too, as part of your tax return filing.

Gonna be a lot of pink slips going out in June after SCOTUS kicks this stinker to the curb.
What will they do with those 4000 agents if SCOTUS scuttles the law?
Not lay them off, that’s for sure.
Government bow wows are almost impossible to fire.
Well Border Patrol could use some extra guys, especially with THAT kind of dedication.............
Um...yeah. The IRS is collecting taxes on a law which may have already been overturned (just awaiting announcement and explanation).
Come announcement of verdict this summer, assuming a complete repeal verdict, will the IRS refund all monies collected under the vacated law?
Rhetorical question, of course. I’m sure the IRS has been ordered into high gear to confiscate every Obamacare penny they can.
One of the most un-American agencies to have ever been forced upon the citizens of this country.
As if we needed any more proof, 0bama’s purpose in POTUS life is to destroy the US. As the USSR was militarily outspent to its collapse, 0bama is accomplishing the same... only from within. Like REALLY within. Spending money that does nothing useful is part of the plan, and here is a perfect opportunity. Hundreds of million$ appropriated is license to spend it on nothing. Also, similar to the initial TARP crap and shovel ready jobs - there were none. Cash for Clunkers - appropriated taxes and, in that case, lots of cars - vanishes. Just money, now gone, with nobody accountable, and million$ of our hard-earned wealth gone *poof*.
Bump
But, hey...it's only the Constitution.
Our "conservative" inillustrious House says and does nothing, again.
Build a giant State Department annex out in the far suburbs and put all 4000 of them out there manning the Canada desk.
(* idea stolen from a bad Michael Moore movie...)
Is there any other kind?...........
You haven’t heard ? Google “healthcare warfare”

This is just the beginning. At warp speed, the Obama Adm will starting implementing as much of ObamaCare as they possibly can in the next 2 1/2 months to make it more difficult to unwind.
Meanwhile, they can do some reorganization in the IRS, and put several thousand agents to use investigating Republican office holders/candidates and conservative media/organizations.
Billions are already spent on Beaurocracy, jobs, computers, etc., etc., to implement Obamacare, and they won't shit-can (which is what they SHOULD do) all the people, and cut off ALL spending for it, and remove the Un-Constitutional Czars that have been appointed, while they're at it.
It's a done-deal.
If the Rupublicans won’t get rid of this sh*t, we will find a party that will.
Nope, these assholes will be hired by TSA.
FairTax!
Replace the income tax with the FairTax and abolish the IRS!
