Earnest Calls Government Mandate 'Personal Responsibility Clause' ...
The Obama administration is now referring to Obamacare as a bi-partisan bill and calling the unpopular individual mandate a Republican idea, following three days of tough questioning by the Supreme Court.
The Affordable Care Act is a bipartisan plan and one that we think is constitutional, Deputy White House press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.
No Republican voted for the Affordable Care Act on final passage.
He also referred to the individual mandate as the individual responsibility clause of the bill, in an attempt to distance the administration from the term individual mandate.
The administration remains confident that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional; one of the reasons for that is that the original personal responsibility clause
was a conservative idea, he said.

Obama and regime are going to see to it that if you ate a Twinkie two years ago, you are to blame for your diabetes and should be denied care.
People smoke.
People drink.
People eat meat.
People eat Monsanto corn.
People eat doughnuts.
You’ve already been tracked via your grocery shopping.
Conservative? They’ll deny you meds because YOU ate lettuce.
I’ve heard Muslims don’t believe in interest...do they believe in insurance?
Obamacare isn’t “insurance”....it’s just paying into the government system - and then you hope you won’t need it.
I'm not even sure there is a Republican Party anymore, unless they are cowering in the corner somewhere. Fighting back was never this party's strong suit.
True. Also reminds me of the old Ultravox tune “Dancing with tears in my (his) eyes”
;)
They are jumping the shark everywhere. People are stupid.
Yep! Stop using that debit card. The credit card on a monthly payment hides that track.
Don’t be a hater!
‘Personal Responsibility Clause’ sounds much better even though it's forcing me to pay for others health care.
So the ‘Personal Responsibility Clause’ was a Republicans idea?? Well opposing it was an Obama idea. He ran against the idea in 2007 and 2008 against Hillary,.
It is truly remarkable, that Democrats have suddenly discovered “personal responsibility”! When the HECK did this happen????!?!?!?!?
Another concept that they have unearthed is this new “rule of law” thing. It’s plastered all over the place on the incredibly well-made and mass-produced picket signs I’ve seen in videos from outside the Supreme Court building, touting the “LAW” of health care.
1984 is NOW.
The Russians made ham-fisted attempts at it; the Nazis made a science out of it; but it took American creativity and ingenuity to truly perfect the art and science of propaganda!
At the end of the day the GOP will have this whole mess hung around their necks..courtesy of the MSM.””
the libs are already tweeting this everywhere.
The new meme goes something like this....the mandate was originally a republican idea (some cite Heritage, some cite Newt) it was implemented by a republican governor (nice swipe at Mitt!)
And so...there ya go! It’s a “republican” idea, because we all know how much libs like to compromise and adapt republican ideas right?
Pelosi (D) Hell: “We have to pass the health care bill so that you can find out...what is in it.”
Dems Lie......Repubs hide......
Yes, personal responsibility is when you are forced to pay for my health care.
I call it Obama-speak.
Sonnnssss a Bitchhhhhhesssss! (said with head shaking and blood vessels bulging)
“personal responsibility”
hmmm...there really are only 15 million “americans” who are uninsured...many of them by their own choice.
The big numbers being bandied about...40 to 50 million, are including illegals.
So, the “personal responsibility” clause, wants my children to inherit this suffocating debt to finance the healthcare for illegals who aren’t paying at all.
And they don’t have the “personal responsibility” to take the proper path to citizenship that many immigrants have.
If it suited their purposes, Obama would suddenly be referred to in the media everywhere as “white”...sure a “white-black” similar to the “white-hispanic”, but white nonetheless. If the Republicans were for this idea then why did they fight so hard against it I wonder? Are they going to say that the Republicans were trying to trick them with reverse psychology? That’s rich.
Seems fair....I pay for some illegals family, and they pay none of mine.
No, but there is a Republican "Capitulation Room" as well as a "Department of Compromise".
