Earnest Calls Government Mandate 'Personal Responsibility Clause' ...
The Obama administration is now referring to Obamacare as a bi-partisan bill and calling the unpopular individual mandate a Republican idea, following three days of tough questioning by the Supreme Court.
The Affordable Care Act is a bipartisan plan and one that we think is constitutional, Deputy White House press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.
No Republican voted for the Affordable Care Act on final passage.
He also referred to the individual mandate as the individual responsibility clause of the bill, in an attempt to distance the administration from the term individual mandate.
The administration remains confident that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional; one of the reasons for that is that the original personal responsibility clause
was a conservative idea, he said.

You gotta give Obama credit - he's tap dancin' as fast as he can ...
Is there a Republican “war room” type of place to issue a response?
The White House is flat out lying and saying that Obamacare was a bi partisan bill? Every single Republican in both House and Senate voted no. This is a certifiable lie. Obama should be called out on this.
If we had a responsible media, the media would call out politicians who flat out lie about factual matters. But the media will not call out Obama on this whopper.
Democrats own this bill. Whatever happens, it’s all Democrat all the way. No way can Obama say it was somehow bi-partisan.
Spin Cycle is on HIGH
After 3 years of democrat party totalitarianism, ObamaCare is now BI-PARTISAN?
I am sorry, my poor head just exploded.
When this is declared unconstitutional, Obama will declare within a week that he was never for Obamacare in the first place.
Sure he can. He got the idea from Romney.
Liberals lie. Everyone knows they lie. You have to believe in lies to be a liberal.
we change the name ,but, shhhhhh, really it’s still the same
In 2008 Romney had a column in USA Today exhorting Obama to create ObamaCare using the individual mandate.
If you consider Romney a Republican, although he was “barely a Republican”.. “moderate with progressive views”.. he wass technically a Republican.
The Dems will fall for it. There was a poster at FOXNEWS.com that tried to show how ironic it will be that a Republican invention (Individual Mandate) would be shot down by a “Republican” Supreme Court.
This will work for his base. He will convince them that it was passed by a bi-partisan group and that indiv. mandate was the Republican idea. Hell, he will convince them that he really didn’t want the mandate included in the bill but the Repubs forced him to add it.
Yes, it is a slip: two-party bill:
Democratic and Communist parties.
I was half serious and half joking. I’ve seen the USA Today article.
Between Joseph Cao and Olympia Snowe, and maybe others (I can’t remember without searching), they can “claim” bi-partisan “support,” the lying liars.
I am sorry, my poor head just exploded.
YOU apparently have no idea how the really big lies are told.
I saw a woman, who has breast cancer, and a doctor on TV yesterday - supporting Obamacare. The woman said she and her husband had a business and couldn’t afford 1500 for insurance. (That seems like a LOT! Did they snoke or what?) Anyway, they dropped their insurance, she got BC and “thanks to Obama her life is now being saved”. The doctor was supporting this all the way.
My question is - why was their insurance so much and why couldn’t they pay it? Was it because they chose to spend money on other things like iPhones, expanded cable, etc...etc.? And now they want to bankrupt the country with Obamacare because they wouldn’t budget for their own bills?
Seems to me if people knew they were going to take the hit for their decisions then they’d get serious about making sure they avoided the situation in the first place.
Also, why do emergency rooms have to treat illegals? We hard working types are paying for this B.S. not to mention the John Edwards type lawyers fees for their B.S. lawsuits.
Is that anything like rebranding gas prices?
Cao(R-LA) was in Congress and Snowe was the only Senate vote that let it pass out of committee. Snowe’s vote allowed them to say that it was bi-partisan. Luckily, Cao is gone and Snowe is leaving.
I think they were the only ones who voted in favor of this.
Dana Carvey ridiculed Obummer tonight on Conan:
``What the __ are you talking about?``
Bastages!
Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta filed for bankruptcy because of all the illegals and welfare types in their emergency rooms.
NO ONE in America has EVER been turned away from medical care.
If we had a quarter for every lie Bath-House Barry told over the past few years, we’d be rich.
