On Face the Nation Sunday on CBS, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum explained that his view of the Trayvon Martin shooting differed significantly from the one held by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
So if Santorum runs against Obama, you won’t vote? A non-vote is essentially a vote for Obama. You might disagree with him here, but at least Santorum will cut taxes, reduce the deficit, repeal Obamacare, drill, support the right to life, support traditional marriage, be strong on foreign policy, and appoint conservative justices to the Supreme Court.
What you see here (http://www.ricksantorum.com/issues) is miles away from what you see here (http://www.barackobama.com/?source=action-bar).
The police themselves have said that it was not a lawful order and he was under no obligation to obey it. He was not told not to follow Trayvon the dispatcher said “we don’t need you to do that.”
I will vote just not for the presidential ticket. Or I will write in someone I like.
Thanks for the links but I'm not interested. What Santorum just did here is a deal breaker and I don't need to hear another thing about him. I thought I made that clear upthread.
Oh, I know, but we don’t know yet whether Zimmerman shot in self defense. He was pretty badly beat up, so he may have been fully in his rights while being attacked to defend his own life.
I do wish Santorum hadn’t felt the need to come down hard on one side when we just do not know. He will have to walk it back. Sigh.
Regarding the phone conversation, Zimmerman did not disobey the Police because it was not a lawful order, and he is not obliged to follow whatever recommendation that they did give. This is all explained in a statement published by the City Manager.
Furthermore, when Officers arrived on the scene, Mr. Zimmerman was cooperative and followed all verbal commands. This is documented in a report by Officer T. Smith.
Snarlen’ Rick.
This man has had a bounty put on his head by a terroristic group.
This is very serious stuff.
Whoa. Shaking my head in disbelief. Just listened on another thread’s link to the enhanced audio of CNN of zimmerman’s 911 call.
He’s a horrible racist to say such a thing. I don’t know, and Santorum doesn’t know, if Zimmerman acted in self defense, but he sure is a racist. Zimmerman knew nothing about this boy and was already talking about him in highly offensive terms. Maybe zimmerman attacked first.
and you think there's wiggle-room for a right and a wrong on Rick's behavior based on what we don't yet know about the incident?
I’m with you. No way could I vote for Santorum now. Up until this I figured if he was the candidate I would very, very unenthusiastically vote for him.
But this shows a total lack of judgement, intelligence, and what’s worse, pandering to the lowest elements, media, blacks, etc. It’s nauseating. Shows Santorum to be shallow, without a solid core and willing to say anything if it sounds good (or he thinks it does).
Youre' kidding, right?
The reason the Justice Department, and in particular, the Civil Rights Division, hasn't gotten involved is because there does not exist any racial slurs on the tape. That is the trigger, and believe me, if it was there, they would have him in custody by now, if for no other reason than for his own protection.
...willing to say anything (and in this case vile things,) about someone regardless of a dead or alive bounty on their head.
How about waiting until we know the facts, Rick?
I hate when politicians wade into the fray armed with only a well-rehearsed soundbite.
I agree.. and the proper response should be, “Until we know the full facts on it, I don`t feel it`s appropriate for me to comment.”
Basic media training 101.
How this guy got as far as he did still amazes me.
I lived in PA when he was running for senate and held my nose to vote for him because he wasn’t an admitted Dem. I’m for either Gingrich or Paul. If it comes down to Mittens or Santorum, well, God can take judgement on our country because I won’t vote for either of these “men.”

What’s the URL?
Here is the authentic 911 tape (not the doctored one):http://www.sanfordfl.gov/investigation/911/call1.wav is the unadulterated 911 tape.
At 2:18 the word is punks; with headphones and a dozen repetitions, it is punks. Note that this link is the official site.
It amazes me too, because somebody has to rush forward and explain what Santorum “really meant” just about every time he opens his mouth.
But people aren’t listening to what he or any of the candidates are really saying. They’re voting for an image. Although Santorum is arguably the most politically connected insider of all of the candidates, including Romney, he has successfully projected the image of an innocent, unsophisticated, working class altar boy who just wants to be a dad, somehow has no work history worth discussing, and is untouched by the crude realities of politics. All of these things are the complete opposite of the reality of Santorum, of course, but somehow, that’s what the voters see. Just a “nice young man,” struggling to get ahead, and I think they honestly don’t care what he says, which is why they always explain it away.
BTW, he already made a stupid comment about this case earlier last week, and you’d think if nothing else, he’d have given it some thought and be smarter than to go back to it again and make his comments even worse.
