More peer-reviewed science contradicting the warming-alarmist "scientific consensus" was announced yesterday, as a new study shows that the well-documented warm period which took place in medieval times was not limited to Europe, or the northern hemisphere: it reached all the way to Antarctica.
The research involved the development of a new means of assessing past temperatures, to add to existing methods such as tree ring analysis and ice cores. In this study, scientists analysed samples of a crystal called ikaite, which forms in cold waters.
Ikaite is an icy version of limestone, explains earth-sciences prof Zunli Lu. The crystals are only stable under cold conditions and actually melt at room temperature.

Global warming warrior ping!
Shades of the book “The HAB Theory”, a fictional account from the seventies I think. It postulated a capsizing earth about every 50,000 years.
SF
Right down to the name change. Remember 10+ years ago it was called The Medieval Climate Optimum.
You can't call anything to do with warming "optimum" anymore
bump
NOW I see your post!
Correct me if I am wrong but does not continetal drift explain that Antarctica drifted into the south pole region (and froze) and will one day drift out of it (and thaw)?
Thanks for the Glow-baloney Warming ping.
A good article. Let’s hope these researchers don’t lose their grants for committing actual science.
What’s the source of that graph? I’d like to digg it or otherwise spread it via social media.

Remember CD is a theory, and like all other theories may not be entirely correct.
As things stand now, the theory is that all landmass was in the southern hemisphere.
That is interesting to me because it implies that some very large body - not the moon - drew it there by gravitational force. When that force was withdrawn, the landmass broke up and began to drift.
There all all kinds of theories about the make up of the early solar system, the status quo one which prevails currently is looking more and more unlikely.
So what will happen 100s of millions of years from now (the time it would take for Antarctica to drift away) is simpily conjecture.
The poles do shift, so there is no guarentee that Antarctica will not be unfrozen even in a new location. Thawing also is a function of solar output. What will be the state of the sun then? Who knows?
Currently, we are overdue for a cool period and possiblily a new ice age.
When was the last Ice Age?
When did Noah and The Great Flood happen?
You’ve hit the key point...To the Left, “science” is what they say it is, based on the political agenda...
And since government and foundations are the source of grants, the mother’s milk of science, there will always be “scientists” (aka whores) who share the desire for a certain outcome willing to work backwards to “prove” it in exchange for payment...And if the “scientists” already share the underlying bias, then so much the better...
This is not a general indictment of science or scientists; the majority are honest and seeking the truth...It’s an acknowledgement that the afore described whores exist and are willing useful idiots of the Left...
Lysenkoism: After Trofim Denisovitch Lysenko; describes the manipulation/distortion of scientific process as a way to reach a predetermined conclusion dictated by an ideological bias, often related to social or political objectives.

“Scientists” are only speculating on things that have been going on for eons, because for the first time, they are witness to it. *sheesh*
Sidebar, that shill who dreamed up the BS about how AquaNet destroyed the ozone layer died this year.
Thank God for small favors!
“Scientists” need to leave the Earth alone, learn from it and stop their panic-mongering.
I’m sure God is not pleased with some of those folks.
Just send me all the data and I’ll get back to you tomorrow.
