Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR), announced today that for the first quarter 2012, the Company has received orders for more than one million units. Therefore, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.
Chief Executive Officer Michael O. Fifer made the following comments:
The Companys Retailer Programs that were offered from January 1, 2012 through February 29, 2012 were very successful and generated significant orders from retailers to independent wholesale distributors for Ruger firearms. Year-to-date, the independent wholesale distributors placed orders with the Company for more than one million Ruger firearms. Despite the Companys continuing successful efforts to increase production rates, the incoming order rate exceeds our capacity to rapidly fulfill these orders. Consequently, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

I will be in the market for a Ruger Vaquero for Cowboy Action in a few weeks.....hope I can get one!
Suggested retail is $799. How come you aren’t bidding on the 1911s which aren’t that high yet?
SP-101, Nuf-said!
Ruger: “Their new lightweight compact (LCR) revolver (38/357).”
Bought one a few weeks ago - light, no exposed hammer, easy to pull trigger. I am female so it’s a great gun for me. Also easy to conceal and no exposed trigger to get caught on anything. Costs a lot of money - didn’t care, bought it.

That should be “no exposed “hammer” to get caught on anything.
You looking for 45 Long Colt or 44 Mag?
My favorite caliber in the Blackhawks is the 30 Carbine, I’ve got some 85 grain loads that come out at close to 2000 fps. Factory loads out of one will clean the wax out of your ears and blow a flame about 5ft.

Those .30 Carbine Blackhawks are loud. A local shop has a Hawkeye show up LNIB recently... It was tempting but where the heck do you find .256 Winchester?
That is not on my immediate wish list....a vaquero is.

45 colt.
45 colt.
Wouldn’t mind getting me a 10/22 setup to shoot pennies at 100 yards. Would also be good for the kids to shoot with. I let them shoot the AR now, which has more than manageable recoil for just about anyone, but is still a bit much gun for a 10 year old(girl). Next birthday, I’ll turn’em loose on the PTR-91 and Saiga-12. :p
Shop around or load your own, you can neck down the 357.
Thats a good round, I prefer it over the 44 Mag. I’ve got 7 1/2 inch stainless Blackhawk in 45 Long Colt that I sent back to Ruger and had a 45 ACP cylinder made for it. Load it with Corbon or Buffalo Bore loads and it’s a thumper, or swap cylinders and load it with 45 ACP’s and it’s nice and gentle.
Yea, I could procure a box here and there to sit with the .32-20 and .38 Long and Short Colt I’ve accumulated. But I’m not the reloading type, more into stockpiling.
You are spot on re: the Ruger LCR. The trigger pull is so smooth. Lightweight (13.5 oz. unloaded) double action 5-shot revolver is ideal for CCW. Use .38 Spl +P rounds and it’s a great personal defense package.
