Jay Carney, White House: It seems even talking about alternative energy sources is funny and I think calling them flat-earthers is appropriate.
Mark Knoller, CBS News: "Isn't that a campaign message?"
Carney: "No! It's a policy message. We believe we have to do this for the sake of America's economic future. It is simply not an option to say that we can keep drilling with two-percent of the known oil reserves in the world when we consume 20-percent of the world's oil. I was a mediocre math student, but that doesn't seem to work out.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Hey, Jim. Nothing is more ludicrous than your party’s belief of SPENDING AWAY our country into oblivion.
“If we 25 oil reserves”
This administration is locked into pseudo...Everything that issues forth from it is false ....They really do believe the American people are stupid and believe their utterances are the gospel
More WH personal attacks on the American people will not help them.
These people amaze even me with their dishonesty and I dont trust any of them.
On the funny side Larry O Donnell on MSNBC has taken up to regularly complaining that the MSM refuses to call Romney's claims ‘lies’ . But guess what, LOD has yet to report on a lie from Obama.
If Romney gets the nomination it really will be a contest of liars.
Correction that’s 2% oil reserves
And I guess not believing in unicorns is intellectually retrograde!
Carney was no doubt right about that!
20% of consumption is quite independent of 2% of reserves.
From what I've read lately, the US consumes roughly the same fraction of rare earth elements, and has roughly the same fraction of reserves. That doesn't stop the Obama Administration from pushing wind power and advanced battery technology, both of which require rare earths.
Another example: The Obama Administration is comprised of 20% of the world's Marxist ideologues who occupy positions of political power, but the US has very few self-described communists.
There’s something like 80 billion barrels of the shores of the U.S., not to mention the oil in ANWR, as well as on other federal lands. The government refuses to let companies tap our own resources despjte the billions in economic output, the revenue, or the jobs it will create. I am utterly amazed the republicans don’t hammer this issue loudly..it is scandalous. Let’s not forget the potential of fracking either. The so-called alternatives like wind and solar cannot match the output of fossil fuels and require the government to a) handicap the oil industry, b) exclude real alternatives like nuclear energy, and c) subsidize them heavily. I’m not against alternatives, but they come from the market place and stand on their own as superior alternatives rather than leftists in government mandating their idelogical hostility to oil production and use.
I liked the rather incomprehensible ad that came out shortly afterwards, ending with “If they were in charge, the earth would still be flat.”
The IBD had a front page article debunking this lie,
but nowhere in the MSM are you going to see it.
They’ll cover for them and amplify the 2% lie.
So says the pofs whose boss blames ATM machines and the internet for job losses.
What a damn joke these people are.
They’d be a “joke” if they didn’t have the power to really screw up our lives.
Statists just don’t get it. Even if they think the “math doesn’t work out,” it’s not up to them to decide. So the Obama administration thinks it has to look to other energy forms to save America. I don’t doubt them. I believe they think they are really doing what’s necessary to wean us proles off of traditional energy for our own (and the planet’s) good, but the arrogance of believing they know what’s best for 300 million Americans is simply astonishing. It’s a fundamental misconception of the role of government. It’s not for them to fix. It’s for them to get out of the way and let market forces find the best solutions! Mark Levin would derisively call these guys “masterminds,” and he’s right. They literally believe they know what’s best for us, as if they designed the oil and coal industries themselves and can make solar and wind viable alternatives with a stroke of a pen.
Great post!

Evidently, he isn't intelligent enough to come up with anything else.
The new ‘Jews’. Pretty soon we’ll be required to wear armbands.
