PRESIDENT Obama officially welcomed the British PM to the US today by vowing to fight for a successful global economy where all countries 'abide by the same rules.'
The President, in his welcome speech at the White House declared that the bond between Britain and the US was stronger than ever and that both countries would work together to ensure that no other jeopardises the stability of the global economy.
The economic situations for both countries have been precarious in recent months with the eurozone debt crisis threatening to destabilise the entire global economy.
President Obama said: "We are fighting for a global economy where every nation plays by the same rules. We seek security and prosperity not only for our own citizens but for people around the world"

Ever notice how democratic candidates are always “fighting for” something. I got so tired of hearing the mom in tennis shoes saying she was “fighting for us” for this, that or the other. I think it is a democratic election process meme.

The "we" is him and his team. He purports to be a Con Law prof and should be compelled by the fact such an objective is not in the job description we are paying for. He has no right to spend taxpayer monies on such an impossible goal. He can pursue that on his dime when he is out of office.
The Repubs ought to lock his heels on this point, if they can grasp what he is about.
I am disheartened to discover this is not one of those “from 1991” Obama quotes.
It appears Obama was briefed by the same folks who briefed the Bush boys.
