"Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is laying it on as thick as a syrupy Southern drawl as he tries to court the South, a region that has been unkind to him in the past and may soon turn its back on him again.
"Morning, y'all," Romney told a campaign rally on Friday in Jackson, Mississippi. "I got started this morning right with a biscuit and some cheesy grits," he joked".

BARF ALERT. Bubba Romney faking a Southern accent and claiming he eats grits is about as damn stupid as it gets. Next he'll be saying he has a joke from his cousin Jimmy Earl about coon hunting.

Romney often makes me think of this guy: "Can I get me a hunting license?"

Hillary has done this, with no headlines from Yahoo. Great Leader has done this, with no headlines from Yahoo. Of course, their faux accents were more towards the ebonics crowd. Isn’t the double-standard a Yahoot!?

Moanin Mitt:
By the way Mitt: Lynard Skynard sang "Sweet Home Alabama" Not the group Alabama.
Yesterday Mittie met with Randy Owen and asked him to sing "Sweet Home Alabama"
Nice try Mittie now go eat some fried Okra and some more grits you have a long way to go. Not to worry though Alabama don't have that many delegates. . . .

Romney is embarrassing both himself and the party. He’d be better off NOT trying to “blend in.” Rick Santorum is from PA, but he didn’t pull all that fakey-Southern nonsense.

What does someone from the north do to get acceptance in the south?
Talk slow, ask about the person’s kids and family even though it is the first time you have met that person. Heck, ask about their dog. After about 15 minutes of idle chit chat then finally start to get down to business.

In the deep south we have a term for someone like Romney - carpetbagger.
To: gunsequalfreedom
So...a northerner trying to get acceptance in the South should talk like he/she is stepping into church on Sunday morning? Sort of a family/familiar way of talking? At church people ask about our dogs when they know they’ve been ill. LOL
To: NKP_Vet
Aint nothin worsn a dang carpetbagger comin down Southn tryn to sound Suthn.
Whether its No waze tired or any other attempt, ifn you aint Suthn any tryn to speak Suthn will sound FAKE.
