Dr. Thomas Sowell tells Neil Cavuto why he supports Newt and how devastating a second Obama term would be.
(Video at Link)
I post mostly on other sites and sowell and Walter williams, along w Friedman, Hayek, hazlett, schiff, Paul, bastiat, are my heroes.
I think WE all know that government CAN NOT change this country,
our universities are nothing more than institutions of propaganda until
WE get our kids OUT of this education system, things will be the same!!!
Here’s the problem. I luv Thomas & his ilk but talk doesn’t get results. We lose freedoms every day. We are not going to win this battle back to freedom by staying in our homes & communicating on the internet. The sheeple are still satisfied with their lifestyle - they got the TV,6-pack, video games, etc. We haven’t yet seen the bottom of the cesspool.
But what good is that if the baggage is so heavy it could bring down the airliner with you and all of us on board?
Fox News:
I’m officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for President today
Jan 19, 2012 | Jim Robinson, Free Republic
I’m officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for president today. Was going to wait until after Florida, but see no reason to delay. We need Newt to win in South Carolina and Florida to stop any possible momentum building up for the establishment big government, statist, abortionist RINO!!
RomneyCare = ObamaCare = government tyranny!! Taxpayer funded abortion is as evil as evil can be!!
Newt is a pro-life Reagan Revolution conservative who led the Republican Revolution of the 90s, taking the majority away from the democrats who had held it for 40 years. And as Speaker, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the spending, cut the deficit, cut regulations, cut unemployment, brought the federal budget under control for four years running. And unlike Romney, actually blocked a socialist healthcare system from becoming law. And created a pro-growth, pro-free market, pro-jobs environment and extended the Reagan economy throughout the 90s!! Newt is the ideal candidate to lead the Tea Party Revolution!!
That's where Newt's plan to have virtual ex-post-facto debates with The Won comes in. Every place Zero goes during the campaign, Newt shows up four hours later and rebuts everything O says. It's even better than debating, you always get to have the last shot!
IMHO most Freepers could successfully debate Obama.
Santorums votes would go to Newt once Santorum is out of the picture.
After Tuesday, Santorum will have won 20 percent of the states. He is not going anywhere. He is going to win his NINTH state tomorrow in Kansas. Tuesday he wins Alabama and Newt might win Mississippi. In 2008, Alabama went with Huckabee which makes me believe they will go with Santorum....same issues and all. Newt will get the McCain win in Mississippi.
I would die a happy man if I could see an Urkel-Gingrich debate.
Doctor Sowell also made this same statement on Rush’s show yesterday.
What I like best about the good Doctor is that he can take a complicated subject, break it down to the raw meat and potatoes and make it crystal clear.
Nor any desire to even try. He's already letting O off the hook on gas prices, which in all honesty is probably somewhat accurate, but it sure doesn't line up with the way Zero handled it when it was his turn. You can't stand there busily consulting your Marquis de Queensbury rulebook while the Marxists are swinging for your kidneys with a lead pipe. That's the one admirable thing about leftists -- they come prepared to fight and they fight to win. Wrong-me would probably end up basically endorsing The One like Lettuce McStain did in 08.
Of course, you misrepresented the numbers. Santorum is barely ahead of Newt, less than 1.5%.
Then again, Sowell is much smarter than many voters apparently. Sowell probably, at 81, will not have to live through the devastation those “pesky voters” will bring us.
You are shameless. Or shameful. Go ahead and pretend you are foolish enough to equate big states and small states as equal. Go ahead and pretend to be foolish enough to equate blue states we'll never win in November with other states. Go ahead and pretend to be foolish enough to equate caucuses with primaries.
Or then again.......
No quarrel with that. That was a personal endorsement which we all shared and when Gingrich was a viable candidate at the time. As his star faded, however, we were asked to join “Le Resistance” to stop Romney. That was the end game. Gingrich was considered the most viable candidate at the time to stop Romney.
But this is not the case today. Indeed, as Carl Cameron reported on FoxNews on the night of Super-Tuesday, the “Romney camp is happy to see Gingrich still in the race” and so we now have the perverse condition of Gingrich becoming an enabler of Romney. This is not what you, Jim Robinson, or any FReeper wants. Politics is fluid, the ground game changes, but let’s not lose sight of our objective.
Your obsessive trolling against the freerepublic candidate, suits you just fine.
Too bad you don’t have a posting history back to 2008, I would love to have seen your old posts.
That’s the last refuge of the scoundrel who unable to rebut speaks of “trolling”
Go ahead and pretend to be foolish enough to equate blue states we’ll never win in November with other states.
Some of your post is correct except for this one part. Blue/purple states are extremely important if you want to beat Obama. For example, Santorum winning Iowa, Colorado, Wisconsin are EXTREMELY important and could win us the election.
Calm down everybody. Posters stop attacking other posters. The nominee will not be decided on FR, that is the reality. Please limit yourself to posting good stuff about candidate of your choice.
First of all, equating caucus wins to primaries, let alone a general election, is simply sophistry.
Second, I did not mention purple states. Talking about deep blue.
Minnesota, for example, deep blue and not a chance in hell Santorum wins that one in the general. Statistically insignificant caucus turn out like Colorado. Perfectly useless for purposes of general election deductions.
