Several newspapers are refusing to run a "Doonesbury"comic strip series that crudely satirizes a Texas law requiring women to have an ultrasound before an abortion.

The company that provides the strip already plans to offer replacement "Doonesbury" comics for newspapers that want to avoid the series on abortion -- set to run next week.

Universal Press Syndicate managing editor Sue Roush confirmed to FoxNews.com that "there are replacement strips available for papers who choose not to publish next week's strips."

The series centers on a new Texas law that requires abortion doctors to show or describe an ultrasound image to a patient before the procedure. The comics feature a woman who goes to a clinic and is confronted by several people who suggest she should be shamed for seeking an

Geez...Doonesbury....I honestly haven’t see anything by him in at least twenty five or thirty years. I gave up the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation back in the 80s...... I’ve have figured the despicable cartoon dude was dead..

It took a hippie revolution to bring us cartoons that favor evil, and expect readers to find that funny. Doonesbury is symptomatic of that moral decay.

Regretably, there evidently are still enough sick readers to keep such things going.

Occupy Doonesbury.

Yep. I haven’t subscribed to a dead tree edition in years. I get my comics and crossword fixes online. With the comics I can set up my own preference page so I only get the strips I want to. And Doonesbury is definitely not one I want to see.

Doonesbury is a repulsive strip that must be produced directly from the headquarters of the Democratic Party.

Doonesbury stopped being funny when Jimmy Carter lost the election.

If I remember right, he used to portray G W Bush as invisible. I wonder how he is portraying Obama’s “transparency”?

We are planning to not renew our subscription when it’s due at the end of the month. My husband says he will miss the comics and nothing else.

How I can set up a page like that for him?

"Once every five or six months there's usually something in 'Doonesbury' that causes a stir," Salem said. "Every two or three years there's something that causes a bigger stir. This is probably one of those times. Historically, that's par for the course with 'Doonesbury' because Garry explores topics on comics pages that are not normally there."
I used to try to make sense of Dunesbury. Then one day I tumbled to the fact that Trudeau was making fun of Ronald Reagan’s Alzheimer’s disease!!
Obviously there is no need to wonder if you are missing anything by not seeing Dunesbury. And I haven’t looked at it since.

Preparing to deliver a "transvaginal exam," the doctor then tells her: "By the authority invested in me by the GOP base, I thee rape."

Cute. Meanwhile there is the FACT that Planned Parenthood themselves REQUIRE transvaginal ultrasounds before performing 1st trimester abortions (the difference is they never show the woman the images, lest she realize there is an actual living being inside her). Refuse it, and you don't get your abortion. Why isn't that "rape"?

I'm not sure about Gator Navy, but I view mine on Tulsa World's Comics Kingdom.
I can't exactly remember how to set up favorite comics, though.

Ah, there it is. Click on “Comics A-Z, then in the box that opens up, click “Setup Favorites.” Then every time you go to the page, your favorite comics will be displayed.

I guess Fox News had to bring up this useless waste of carbon into a news story to keep him off welfare.
Maybe they're trying to hire Jane Pauley.
