Fox News host Greta Van Susteren announced this evening that she will be boycotting the 68th annual Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents' Dinner over the selection of a comic to headline the dinner who has repeatedly attacked Sarah Palin using vile sexual terms.
Another pig….and a media association has hired the pig, Louis C.K., to be their headliner for the big media dinner? Really? I am not going. I refuse to go. Everyone in the media should join me in this boycott.
The headliner of this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is “comedian” Louis C.K. Comedian? I don’t think so. Pig? yes.
He uses filthy language about women…..yes, the C word…and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States. It isn’t just Governor Palin he denigrates. He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh.
I refuse to show any support for this guy or for the Radio and Television Correspondents Association Dinner Committee who hired him. I think the organization that hired him is just as bad as he is. It is no secret that he denigrates women.

Free Republic brought to prominence the matter of Louis CK hosting the dinner by keeping an original article on the dinner published in Breaking News. The article was picked on Twitter and by several bloggers.
The article picked up on news about the dinner reported by Brent Bozell at Newsbusters. Bozell had mentioned the dinner earlier that day but had buried it in a column about the Rush Limbaugh-Sandra Fluke controversy.
Van Susteren is showing more courage than one would expect, as the 2012 chairman of the RTCA is a Fox D.C. colleague, John L. Wallace III.

I think it would be much better, and more effective, if she would attend and at some time when everyone would hear her, shout out loudly for all in attendance to hear, and rub their noses in, the shameful hypocrisy of the Left on this matter.

I have mentioned previously that I have an upgraded opinion of Greta. Yes, she was a flaming liberal back when the Clinton Impeachment was in progress. I think that she was with CNN at the time. She apparently has seen the light, and became a much more conservative person. It happens. Sorry to say, however, she, like Sarah Palin has an extremely high-pitched, irritating voice. But I have even started recording her shows on Fox. She has an excellent show, and great guests.

If it weren’t for Greta I would not be watching Fox at all. For the most part she gives a fair and balanced approach to her interviews and stays on message without reverting to sillyness. One of the few out there today who gives the “news” so to speak without all the fluff. Worthy of respect even when one might not like what she is saying.
Good for her on this matter....let’s hope it’s contageous and a few more do likewise. It would make a statement the more who do this....OR...the more the press reports it.
Finally! Someone who will stand up in the face of profanity against conservatives. It was very brave of Greta to take a stand like this since she really isn’t a conservative. However, she is a woman and realizes that when they call a woman like Sarah horrible things, they are disrespectful of all decent women.
Kudos for FreeRepublic for all that is done to promote good in this world....and it’s noticed!
