Green Beret, two daughters killed in North Carolina Blaze

A Green Beret and his two young daughters were killed in Raleigh, N.C., when their home was engulfed in flames early Tuesday morning.

Authorities told local TV station NBC-17 that Edward Cantrell, 36, covered himself with a blanket and reentered the burning home in an effort to save his daughters but never made it out.

He had returned from Afghanistan less than a year ago.

As the brave soldier tried to fight flames to save his children, his wife went next door to an Alzeimer’s care facility to call for help.

The center’s employees said they can’t believe Cantrell has died.

“It’s just terrible. We sit here and say our Special Forces can take care of America and this man is trying to go up there and take care of his family and he can’t,” Cindy Jacobs, who works at the center, told the TV station.

Cantrell was awarded four bronze hearts and a purple medal while on tour.

This brave man went into a burning house torescue his two daughters.

Obviously the reporterette got his awards wrong.

"Cantrell was awarded four bronze hearts and a purple medal while on tour."

Good heavens! He was "on tour." On tour? With his rock band? Purple Medal? Have we fallen so far that our news paper reporters don't even know what the Purple Heart is?

Incredibly sad, but this is what a parent does. Like the Indiana mom who shielded her kids from the tornado, real parents know that that’s what one does when danger threatens their kids.

Purple medal & bronze hearts...this got past the reporter and an editor? No matter, I’m sure they have excellent self esteem.

typical of libtard media (who aren’t mainstream) who don’t take the time to learn a little about the military they report on. they don’t need to know the difference between an M1 and an M1A2 MBT but bronze stars and purple hearts? and from north carolina.

De Oppresso Liber

Special Forces Prayer

Almighty GOD, Who art the Author of liberty and Champion of the oppressed, hear our prayer.

We the men of Special Forces, acknowledge our dependence opon Thee in the preservation of human freedom.

Go with us as we seek to defend the defenseless and to free the enslaved.

May we ever remember that our nation, whose motto is "In God We Trust", expects that we shall acquit ourselves with honor, that we may never bring shame upon our faith, our families, or our fellow men.

Grant us wisdom from Thy mind, courage from Thine heart, strength from Thine arm, and protection by Thine hand.

It is for Thee that we do battle, and to Thee belongs the victor's crown.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever.

Amen. I would gladly die to save or to try to save my kids. These craven evil parents that kill their kids or let them die in a fire are not how it is supposed to be.
