According to a series of advertisers' Twitter and Facebook statements, at least 20 different sponsors have now pulled their spots from Rush Limbaugh's radio show.
In case you're new to the kerfuffle—welcome out of hibernation!—advertisers began dropping like flies after Limbaugh called a Georgetown law student and women's rights activist a "slut" and a "prostitute" for supporting healthcare coverage for contraception.
Sleep Number and The Sleep Train, both mattress suppliers, were the first two advertisers to pull their ads Friday, and the numbers have grown tenfold since then.
Media Matters has been regularly updating a list of advertisers that have been dropped (or aired) ads on Limbaugh's show.
On Tuesday, Bare Escentuals, Sensa Weight Loss program, Hadeed Carpet, Thompson Creek Windows, Vitacost, AccuQuote Life insurance, and Polycom all joined the Exodus.
Two local radio stations have also stopped running Limbaugh's show.
But some advertisers are finding it difficult to pull their ads, even if they disagree with Limbaugh's statements, because they bought package deals with the network. This means that their ads aren't specifically intended to air during Limbaugh's show.
Amberen, a menopause medication, explained the difficulty on its Facebook page:
"We understand that some of our customers are concerned that Amberen ads are still airing on the Rush Limbaugh show. Lunada Biomedical assures you that we take these concerns to heart! Most of our employees, including the CEO, are female. And like millions of other Americans we were outraged by Rush Limbaugh's incendiary and offensive comments. However, we are a small company that buys remnant (leftover) media time and, as such, we cannot, by definition, be considered the ‘sponsors’ of Mr. Limbaugh's show.”

Soon this will be like the Beck advertiser boycott that most of the advertisers that supposedly fled never actually advertised on Beck’s shows.
Amberen ran commercials on here during Rush on my local station. Now I superscribe to Rush’s website. So I sometimes watch the live feed. But I also ran thee feed from the local today.

any way to get the list of 20 without exposing my computer to MediaMatters.org?
FOAD anti-first amendment cowards. I’m watching ya.
I heard a Sensa ad today.
And people wondered why Beck started his own subscriber-based network.
Overall, the trend is very ominous.
First Vitacost and now BareEssentuals. Super pissed right now!
ironically, two MATtRESS companies were the first to pul ltheir advertising over the flap over a slut? How ironic
All of these corporate guys have liberal wives.
(or Aired) is key to this. Some of these losers haven’t advertised on Rush for ages.
They are trying to jimmy up the numbers by using companies that have been long gone.
The noose tightens.

Rush should have called her a t*** and a c*** since no one reacted when Governor Palin was called those names...
[[”We understand that some of our customers are concerned that Amberen ads are still airing on the Rush Limbaugh show. Lunada Biomedical assures you that we take these concerns to heart!]]
But yet they’d no such ‘heartfelt’ symapthy for people who voice concerns over amberen advertsiing on sites that encourage immoral behavior I’m assuming?
I’m annoyed as well.
Hypocrits, all.
Wish I used their products so I could cancel.
Only Pro Flowers and my daughter uses them. Maybe I can influence her to stop.
It’s spit in the ocean anyway. Rush will get plenty of sponsors to take their place, I remember when Orange Juice and Snapple bailed. Did anyone miss them?
Haven’t heard any commercials lately from any of these fools.

It’s time to become a bulldog like Breitbart.
So . . .
— get busy letting advertisers who have dropped the show know that you have dropped them.
— start pressuring conservative-leaning companies to pick up the slack.
The only reason these boycotts work is because one side is noisier than the other.
Conservatives are, quite simply, nicer than liberals. So they aren’t as effective.
