According to a series of advertisers' Twitter and Facebook statements, at least 20 different sponsors have now pulled their spots from Rush Limbaugh's radio show.
In case you're new to the kerfuffle—welcome out of hibernation!—advertisers began dropping like flies after Limbaugh called a Georgetown law student and women's rights activist a "slut" and a "prostitute" for supporting healthcare coverage for contraception.
Sleep Number and The Sleep Train, both mattress suppliers, were the first two advertisers to pull their ads Friday, and the numbers have grown tenfold since then.
Media Matters has been regularly updating a list of advertisers that have been dropped (or aired) ads on Limbaugh's show.
On Tuesday, Bare Escentuals, Sensa Weight Loss program, Hadeed Carpet, Thompson Creek Windows, Vitacost, AccuQuote Life insurance, and Polycom all joined the Exodus.
Two local radio stations have also stopped running Limbaugh's show.
But some advertisers are finding it difficult to pull their ads, even if they disagree with Limbaugh's statements, because they bought package deals with the network. This means that their ads aren't specifically intended to air during Limbaugh's show.
Amberen, a menopause medication, explained the difficulty on its Facebook page:
"We understand that some of our customers are concerned that Amberen ads are still airing on the Rush Limbaugh show. Lunada Biomedical assures you that we take these concerns to heart! Most of our employees, including the CEO, are female. And like millions of other Americans we were outraged by Rush Limbaugh's incendiary and offensive comments. However, we are a small company that buys remnant (leftover) media time and, as such, we cannot, by definition, be considered the ‘sponsors’ of Mr. Limbaugh's show.”

Thanks...I appreciate your poosting the list.
I think most of this is Media Matters propaganda.
As you say, many of these I’ve never heard advertised in my local market, on the show or on the NY market (when I listen on the internet).
It's starting to look that way. Perhaps Media Matters ought to be sued for damages by some of the businesses they are falsely listing.
Just cancelled NetFlix. Customer Service said they did not know the answer to my question: “Have you stopped subscribing to the Rush Limbaugh Show?” When I asked them for the name and number of the person to call regarding getting this information they did not know who to send me to. Can you believe that ??????? I stopped our service with NetFlix!
Hmmm,
If one of Carbonites competitors was smart, they would run an ad as a replacement for Carbonite.
Strike while the iron is hot and they would have customers for life.
If you check out the Facebook pages of all these companies you’ll see that they’ve been inundated by Lefty seminar posters - first demanding that they drop Rush - then following up with “thank you for siding with women” postings when they do.
As much as I loathe Media Matters, they do have a list of all of Rush’s sponsors already laid out.
http://mediamatters.org/blog/201203050019#March%205
This list includes those who are STILL advertising with Rush.
I really think we should all be contacting whoever is still hanging in there with Rush to balance out the Lib’s vitriol with messages of support. Rush listeners have done a great job of this with ProFlowers (’tho sadly, not so much with the rest of the brands owned by this company), Carbonite, Sleep Number and maybe a few others, but the Left is hitting ALL of them very hard.
The sponsors who already dropped are probably a lost cause (they still should hear from us, of course), but it’s more critical at this point to help the rest stand their ground imho.
We can't become lax and complaisant...we've got to keep fighting, until we WIN this war. Never underestimate this enemy...they've waited many, many years to be in the position that they are in...with us in their crosshairs.

It is my understanding that Sears has pulled advertising from Rush Limbaugh's radio show. At least this is what the left-wing, George Soros-funder Media Matters is reporting. Rush called a woman the "S" word after she testified that the others, including a Catholic University, should pay for her and her friends contraception because they are apparently having so much sex at school that they are going broke paying for it themselves (and by the way, she lied about how much it costs, but never mind).
I have been a Sears customer most of my adult life (I'm 58 now). However, if it is true that Sears has taken this totalitarian action, especially considering that Rush offered a heartfelt apology, well then Sears has lost a customer forever. The left is destroying this country and dragging us into their version of a socialist utopia and I'm sorry to see Sears buying into their agenda. Yes, what Rush said was over the line - but he apologized and his comments are understandable in the context of this woman's idiotic testimony.
Did Sears pull advertising from CBS when David Letterman called Sarah Palin a SLUT? No. Did Sears pull advertising when Letterman made a crude joke about Sara Palin's daughter being "knocked up" by a baseball player? NO! Did Sears pull advertising when Ed Shultz of MSNBC called conservative Laura Ingraham a Slut? NO! Did Sears pull advertising from HBO when Bill Maher called Sarah Palin such vile things I wont even repeat them here? NO! But let Rush Limbaugh say one thing that the left in this country can feign outrage over (and make no mistake, their outrage is as fake as a $3 bill) and all hell breaks loose. Well, this American patriot is sick of it.
Therefore, unless I hear from you that you are NOT pulling your advertising from Rush's show, then as soon as I am able to pay off my current balance (which I plan to do as quickly as possible) I am in fact going to close my account with Sears and you will have lost a life-long customer forever. Sears will never, ever get another dime of my hard earned money. Never! Saul Alinsky can kiss my grits and so can Sears!
Respectfully await your reply, [end quote]
We Must fight back folks - any way we can! "I AM ANDREW BREITBART!!!"
I just cancelled my NetFlix account.
I really loved receiving movies, but I stand with Rush!
Why are conservatives so hamstrung by the lack of an effective conservative media network, including a radio network and TV network? We’ve been griping for years about the MSM and wringing our hand that they don’t play fair. Is there NO wealthy conservative (or group of conservatives) that can buy up a TV network and radio network? I know many say that the TV networks are on the way out, but there are still a LOT of people who get their news from TV networks. I know there are some extremely wealthy conservative who have the money and connections to do this. I just don’t see why none of them have ever followed through. Do they not see the danger this country is in? Did we rely on FOX too much, only to find out they really aren’t conservative (and now an almost majority share owned by Saudis)?
Without a free press and freedom of choice in schooling (to escape the communist propaganda in our schools) I don’t know if our country has a hope of coming out of this mess we’re in.
I let them know that we will not do business with them ever again. The leftists do not leave when their side spouts vile and much worse remarks than what Rush said. Hypocrits. And the people realize it too.
I will never cancel Allstate. I've had the same agent for over 25 years and they have always done well by me. When Hurricane Ike hit in 2008, lots of people here had a hard time getting their claims paid. I had no troubles at all. I had some roof damage; so they put on a new roof. They also replaced my fence even though it was not damaged by the storm. It was just old and falling down. They knew that but picked up the tab anyway.
I'm not going to get stuck with some half-assed insurance company to defend Rush. The rest of the companies on the list I can do without, and I'll probably subscribe to Rush 24/7 again even though I don't have time to listen to it.
I just contacted Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals) makeup and told them if this was their final decision to cancel my auto ship and why. I’m just one customer, but I am certainly not going to give them my business. I would encourage anyone else who uses Bare Minerals makeup to stop using a company with no principles and which is ready to ditch our Constitution because of some left-wing activist liars.
I just called Netflix and asked if they were canceling their advertising on Rush. He stated that they were thinking about it and wanted to know what the public supports. I indicated I would call back if they did cancel and in return I would cancel my services with Netflix.
If you use Netflix, call them!
And I guess St. Vincent's didn't get the Bishop's memo.
Just wrote this email to Sears. So glad I found your list.
I have loved Sears since I was a child and shopped there many times, but I am so angry at Sears, I swear I will not return there if you continue your decision to pull advertising from Rush Limbaugh. Though some might deplore his use of words regarding the liberal activist who claimed she and her friends had sex so often they could not afford contraception and the taxpayers must therefore be forced to pay for it, he did apologize. The liberal side used words way worse than that, and on conservative women who had not even mentioned sex. Did you pull advertising from them? I don’t think so. I am fed up with businesses going along with these liberal sources who claim to be “offended” but even call themselves by similar names. (Remember the so-called “slut-walk” they encouraged last year?) Our Constitution protects freedom of speech, and you know what? That means sometimes people are going to be offended. My dad used to say, “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” Shame on Sears. Please reconsider this Marxist-Communist lurch you have taken. I would write a letter but I don’t see your address. I hope to hear you have thought better of such a rash decision.
I’ve only heard ads from six of that list aired on Rush’s show.
It seems that most of those may advertise only sparingly on his show to begin with.
I suppose that some of these advertisers are running low on
sales because of the Obama economy and are using this as
an excuse to get out of the contracts.
Thanks for the list I just sent one to Clear Channel
it was kind of hokie but I sent it anyway.
