Obama: Sin is what doesn't match 'my values'
SRN News.com ^ | March 2, 2012 | Michael Foust / Baptist Press

The one-hour interview by Cathleen Falsani was conducted when Obama was running for U.S. Senate (2004)...

Among Obama's most intriguing answers, he says he believes there are many paths to God. His answers on heaven and sin, though, have drawn the most discussion:

FALSANI: "Do you believe in heaven?"

OBAMA: "Do I believe in the harps and clouds and wings?"

FALSANI: "A place spiritually you go to after you die?"

OBAMA: "What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, that I will be rewarded. I don't presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. But I feel very strongly that whether the reward is in the here and now or in the hereafter, the aligning myself to my faith and my values is a good thing. When I tuck in my daughters at night and I feel like I've been a good father to them, and I see in them that I am transferring values that I got from my mother and that they're kind people and that they're honest people, and they're curious people, that's a little piece of heaven."

FALSANI: "Do you believe in sin?"

OBAMA: "Yes."

FALSANI: "What is sin?"

OBAMA: "Being out of alignment with my values."

FALSANI: "What happens if you have sin in your life?"

OBAMA: "I think it's the same thing as the question about heaven. In the same way that if I'm true to myself and my faith that that is its own reward; when I'm not true to it, it's its own punishment."

Obama said he is a Christian but that he also draws beliefs from other religions.

I’ve heard W, Joel Osteen (not a shocker) and Billy Graham (a shocker) say there is more than one path to God. Now you’re free to call yourself anything you want but, if you believe that, you’re not a Christian.

It’s hard to understand how BOzo could spend so much time in a pew and not be able to even fake being a Christian better than he does.

First Commandment violated by Obama alert!!

He clearly does not put God (and therefore God’s commandments on how to conduct oneself) before himself - he considers his own values and opinions to be superior to any others, including God himself. That was Lucifer’s sin as well - the fallen angel felt he knew more than God.

I’m not excusing Obama but I would be surprised if he ever heard the true gospel preached in Jeremiah Wright’s church.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%2015:1-5&version=ESVUK

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you— unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.”

Plus, liberalism tends to find the idea of man’s sinful nature and the need for blood atonement “distasteful”:

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%209:22&version=AMP

“[In fact] under the Law almost everything is purified by means of blood, and without the shedding of blood there is neither release from sin and its guilt nor the remission of the due and merited punishment for sins.”

There is no way Obama is a Christian.Per the article he says:He added, “So, I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.”

Christ Jesus says in John 14:6-Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Obama is pure evil.He also admits his father is from Kenya which per the Constitution he is, in no way eligible to be POTUS

"He believes there are many paths to God."

Really?

There's only one. The Savior says, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Light". He also says, "NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me."

I could go on, but the worthless little twerp in the White Hut isn't worth any more of my time on this subject.

Obama completely misunderstands and misrepresents the Bible story in which Cain mockingly asks God “am I my brother’s keeper”, after Cain killed Abel and God asked him where his brother was

He hasn't a clue that that was Cain's "smart ass" answer to God's question.

I personally feel a sadness when I see someone saying "many ways to God", there's one way and when someone rejects that one way, they are hell bound and I don't wish that on anyone - not even Obama, as much as everything about him disgusts me. I feel the same about Romney too.

“Thou shalt have no other god before me.”

It’s obvious Obama worships himself. “His values...”

Hmph.

“What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, that I will be rewarded.”

Wrong Barry, heavenly rewards are earned by doing things God’s way, not yours.

I wish this interview had been published before the 2008 election. Hopefully, Obama's "faith" will receive more exposure and discussion this time around. Can any faithful Christian legitimately vote for this guy knowing that Obama professes to be a Christian, but instead, defines sin as "being out of alignment with my values"??? I also found the following to be rather interesting:

Asked who Jesus is to him, Obama answered, "Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he's also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher. And he's also a wonderful teacher. I think it's important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history."

Obama was not asked about his beliefs on the deity of Christ or the resurrection.

If I'm not mistaken, Obama gave us plenty of information about his beliefs on the deity of Christ or the Resurrection. It can be inferred from his statement that to him, Jesus was an historical figure and a wonderful teacher. No wonder he doesn't "get" Christianity. He does not view Jesus Christ as his Savior. It is readily apparent.

Barack Obama bears no resemblence to Jesus Christ or any Christian I have ever known.
Salvation is by works? No.
The man is not a Christian.

"FALSANI: "What is sin?"

"OBAMA: "Being out of alignment with my values."

Wow...same definition as Adolph Hitler.

What a shallow, shallow man.

OBAMA: “Being out of alignment with my values.”
.............????????????...............

Wow! No wonder he had the notion that he was some sort of Messiah back in 2008 when he was running for POTUS. Any person who thinks that he is the definer of “sin” is so far our of the realm of Christianity or Judaism that it blows my mind.
