STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island's female elected officials from both sides of the aisle are demanding that conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh "apologize to all women" for calling a Georgetown University Law student a "slut" on his program.
Limbaugh caused a national firestorm when he used the word after Sandra Fluke testified before Congress about the need for contraceptive coverage.
"What does it say about the college coed ... who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex?" Limbaugh said on Wednesday. "It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex."
He went on to suggest that Ms. Fluke distribute sex tapes of herself.
"If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it," he said. "We want you post the videos online so we can all watch."
The remarks brought swift, bi-partisan condemnation in Washington, with President Barack Obama, who called Ms. Fluke personally, and GOP House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), slamming Limbaugh.
The Island's elected women -- state Sen. Diane Savino (D-North Shore/Brooklyn), Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-East Shore/Brooklyn) and City Councilwoman Debi Rose (D-North Shore) -- called Limbaugh's remarks "disgusting" and said they were made all the worse because March is Women's History Month.
"It does not matter if your hero is Eleanor Roosevelt or Margaret Thatcher," said Ms. Savino, "this is about treating women with dignity and respect. If Mr. Limbaugh cannot find it in his conscience to apologize, his fans and advertisers should demand that he does."

The dictionary defines the term as “a sexually unchaste woman”. Rush should apologize only after Miss Fluke proves that she’s not a sexually unchaste woman. I think the feminazis are going to be in for a very long wait.
Also, I think these lawmakers should apologize to all women for saying they or Miss Fluke represent “all women”.
Lessse, February is black history month, now were in women's history month?
Do I dare ask what month April is?
White man history month? No, no that's just ugly and probably illegal.
How about homosexual appreciation month?
Pedophiles and teacher history month?
You're so full of crap it's coming out your eyeballs.
He insulted all unmarried women going to $65,000 a year schools who believe that their $9 a month contraceptives should be paid for by other people.
I take it all the women you know fit that description?
Or maybe you fit that description?
MSNBCs Crystal Ball (a Stripper's name) is leading a boycott of Rush's sponsors over birth control much like they went after Beck. She was on three shows tonight explaining it. Well unlike Beck (who I miss) who worked for a establishment Republican at FNC, Rush owns his own show and has no one person who can fire him. He is much longer established in his radio show than Beck at FNC.
The libs are doing everything they can to project that Rush is the head of the Republican party and to force Republicans to give an opinion on him. Well they shouldn't take the bait.
The Morning Joe Scarb this morning claimed that opposing these future Obama-care mandates is challenging settled issues from 1965.
Obama personally called the liberal Betsy Ross Sandra Fluke to thank her for her heroism and ask her if she was OK
Tonight the MSNBC drama fun was to bring on Sandra and playing video-cam clips of Rush to her and showing her reacting to it with them live. Priceless comedy drama
I am not a super fan of Rush but this is too much fun.
If these idiots want women to be treated with “respect”, don’t list Eleanor Roosevelt as a woman who was treated with respect. FDR cheated on her just as JFK did on Jack, Ted Kennedy did to Ethel, and Bill Clinton did to Hillary.
I don’t recall hearing these cows say anything about the above, and never will.
Sandra Kay Fluke (born April 17, 1981)
Sandra Fluke’s professional background in domestic violence and human trafficking began with Sanctuary for Families in New York City. There, she launched the agency’s pilot Program Evaluation Initiative. While at Sanctuary, she co-founded the New York Statewide Coalition for Fair Access to Family Court, which after a twenty-year stalemate, successfully advocated for legislation granting access to civil orders of protection for unmarried victims of domestic violence, including LGBTQ victims and teens. Sandra was also a member of the Manhattan Borough President’s Taskforce on Domestic Violence and numerous other New York City and New York State coalitions that successfully advocated for policy improvements impacting victims of domestic violence.
As the 2010 recipient of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Fran Kandel Public Interest Grant, she researched, wrote, and produced an instructional film on how to apply for a domestic violence restraining order in pro per. She has also interned with the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking; Polaris Project; Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County; Break the Cycle; the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project; NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund; Crime Victim and Sexual Assault Services; and the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County.
Through Georgetown’s clinic programs, Sandra has proposed legislation based on fact-finding in Kenya regarding child trafficking for domestic work, and has represented victims of domestic violence in protection order cases. Sandra is the Development Editor of the Journal of Gender and the Law, and served as the President of Law Students for Reproductive Justice, and the Vice President of the Women’s Legal Alliance. In her first year, she also co-founded a campus committee addressing human trafficking. Cornell University awarded her a B. S. in Policy Analysis & Management, as well as Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies in 2003.
Kenya????
#2....As far as Sleep Number Beds firing him: who in the hell ever heard of Sleep Number before they hired Rush? He no doubt put them on the map. And, I've heard him personally buy and give away 2 of those beds to callers, just like he did with the car he bought for that woman a couple of years ago. Those beds are not cheap....think they go for about a thousand bucks. That's OK..... it's their loss. Hope they have to go out of business.....
Apparently the democrat sluts are feeling picked on.
Okay, Rush has defined that Fluke is one of the “chicks for free,” (as the song goes), but what does that make The Obamanator who is setting her up in business? Darn! What is that word?
Opps...just looked up and saw a horse on TV and it looked like MISTER ED. Then, a commercial came on and showed a trashy-looking girl in a jeans ad. I kinda got confused for a minute. Sorry !
Ditto.
Agreed, we should stop buying from a lot of companies. Like any Company in Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway, GE, GM, Chrysler, Ford, Goldman Sachs, tell the wife and kids no movies the rest of the year. It’s time for us to unite as millions of people who are fed up with these one way street clowns.
Does all this mean that Obama gets the “slut” vote this election?
Pros·ti·tute noun: A person, typically a woman, who engages in sex for payment.
Is she engaging in sex? Yes. Is payment being rendered for this action? Yes, the taxpayers are paying.
What does this equal?
She is by definition a Pros·ti·tute noun: A person, typically a woman, who engages in sex for payment.
You know you are over the target when you are catching flak.
Yes, in today’s “me, me, me” society, the number one concern is, and should be, the sexual habits of a graduate level student *rolleyes*
I have an idea, why can’t we add the cost of healthcare and contraception to the tuition bill?
You know you are over the target when you are catching flak.
