Obama Cabinet Secretary: 'The Private Market is in a Death Spiral' By Fred Lucas February 29, 2012
(CNSNews.com) Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday that the days of private health insurance are coming to an end in the United States.
The private market is in a death spiral, Sebelius said, contending this would be the case whether or not President Barack Obama's health care law had been enacted.
At the Ways and Means hearing, Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) asked Sebelius about the administrations assurances that people who liked their current health insurance plan would be able to keep it under the new law.
How about when the president said you can keep your health care coverage, if you like it? Roskam said. And yet, the reality is, according to Bloomberg (News) at least, 9 percent fewer businesses are offering medical coverage than in 2010. There the rhetoric didnt meet the reality, did it?
Sebelius did not contest the numbers.
Well again, congressman, what youre seeing, it wouldnt have mattered if we had passed the Affordable Care Act or not, she said. The private market is in a death spiral.

YEAH...the government KILLED it, you evil b*(tch
What would you expect from a captain in the Culture of Death?
I can only guess. But, I do know what she is.
I think she is the spawn of Dr Kevorkian.
DING DING DING!
We have a WINNER!
Given the powers assigned to her under Obamacare----she is the most powerful person in our country as she holds all our lives in her hands!
“contending this would be the case whether or not President Barack Obama’s health care law had been enacted.”
Ya. Whatever you say, you stupid whore.
This is a case of 'the Winners' getting to write the history. Government has been interfering in healthcare delivery for decades. Each time the private sector gets crowded out, little by little. Pointing to a single event -- even one as large as Obamacare -- misses the point by a mile.
I notice the title quote was missing the
“WOO HOO!”
at the end of it.
It’s in a death spiral then by their own hand. Thanks 0bama.
I note that the stock for all major insurance carriers bounced up by 4-5% the day after this pos legislation was signed. Who are THEY kidding?
Like when Obamacare mandated that children could be on their parent’s health plan till age 26. A lot of people thought: “Hey, that’s great. Another freebee!” What really happened is that company’s stopped the co-pays for everyone BUT the employee. So, technically they’re still “on the plan”, but the employee is paying for every cent of his/her family members.
This was the plan all along. ‘Single Payer’ system here we come.
It bears repeating.. 0bama’s Sal Alinsky tactic is to CREATE THE EXCUSE THEN IMPLEMENT THE “CHANGE”.
Excuse: “Private market is in death spiral”
CHANGE: Single payer system
Excuse: Gulf oil rig disaster
CHANGE: Domestic oil drilling moratorium
Excuse: American guns in Mexico (F&F)
CHANGE: Gun control (Gun restrictions on American FFL’s)
Excuse: High gas prices
CHANGE: Electric or “green” vehicles
Excuse: “Women’s health”
CHANGE: Attack religion as gateway to Marxism
Excuse: Gay rights
CHANGE: Weaken our military
Excuse: Occupy Wall Street
CHANGE: Gov’t controls Wall Street
Excuse: “Arab Spring” Democracy!
CHANGE: “Arab Winter” Caliphate
Anyone care to add to my “Excuses for CHANGE” list?
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius:The private market is in a death spiral
.
The whole economy is in a death spiral. It’s not just health care.
I am not going to your Camp!
What you have there is chilling enough.
She and Obama put a bullet in it!!!
Message to Romney: 0bama is not a nice guy who is in over his head. He is competently accomplishing his evil goals.
