I was thinking of a garden variety nuclear strike, not EMP.
(What would the country do without the continuous poisonous influence of the enemies of the West, in positions of power and influence, just like Wormtongue.)
NO cheers, unfortunately.
Thank you for your response. Seems like good information, can you support your sources?
I’m not talking about the little ones they put on the power poles. I’m asking about the ones in the substations. From what I’ve learned, there are not than many in inventory and it takes a couple of years for them to be manufactured after the order has been placed.
Please have patience as I’m not educated about such things; however, I am a generator tech and an a bit more knowledgeable than most about the generation of electricity.
Again, I’m here to learn and am not trying to pick a fight.
Thanks, AD
I was explaining to a fellow freeper, can’t remember who, that the ‘morning people’ will not let any EMP, solar blast, earthquake, asteroid strike impede them from getting the job done.
These morning people won’t even know what the cause of the catastrophe is - and they’d be unimpressed if they did - but as the ‘openers’ of the planet, the show WILL go on, and if that means dispatching janitors on horses to the tech people to get this snafu fixed THIS INSTANT that is what they will do.
Entropy is easy to imagine, but impossible to achieve with the morning people running things.
And the 7am people know not to piss off the 4am people.
no Habla. =)
An old welder told me that you have to remove the ground strap from the battery, in other words interrupt all of a vehicle’s circuitry, in order to do arc welding on it to prevent frying the alternator, regulator, or computer. Would a breaker switch for the ground cable protect you from an EMP jolt?
