It makes me shudder just seeing Clinton’s name next to Reagan’s. Bleeech.

Reagan leading Clinton by double votes, but, come on...is that the best we can do, Freepers? I did my part and cast a vote for President Ronald Reagan. Had they offered a chance to vote for my second favorite, it would have been for Calvin Coolidge, rightly admired by President Reagan.

Where's Coolidge? I want a president who can cut spending, cut taxes and cut the debt by a quarter.

Washington is Number 1.
Pick the second best from there and then we can debate, but there is no debate in my mind about the best. It was George Washington.
No President has topped old George, or even come close, IMHO.
We owe that man so much.

Hands down, George Washington.
Over the course of my life, everything I have learned about George Washington (after the inability to tell a lie and that kind of stuff) has brought me to the conclusion that George Washington is likely one of the greatest men to have ever lived.
A distant second for me is Calvin Coolidge...:)

Washington should be top ... period.
Basically without him there would be no USA and/or we would have a king instead of the gov’t we have today (though that ain’t saying much these days).
