Actually, that dorky little wuss Jay Carney did exactly that at today's WH presser. He cited the approval granted BO"s "compromise" by some useful "Catholic" idiots and suggested that any further opposition would be only politically motivated.

His Eminence finally woke up and smelled the B.O.

I liked it when he said something about his own favorite Cardinals (Stan Musial, Ken Boyer, Bob Gibson... - St. Louis Cardinals baseball past).
