While I understand that only a fraction of the population of this nation is directly affected by what you are about to read, I would never-the-less like to remind you that the remainder of the population is affected coincidentally. While the majority of the American population probably never even considered the Armed Forces as a possible career objective, there are those who never considered life without serving their country, in uniform, on a field of combat. Most of these young men and women never take the time to internalize some idealized vision of charging death for God and Country,

Utterly stupid idea. I doubt anyone has ever tried this before. Now to get combat pay, soldiers will invite (fabricate?) incidents.

Obama never served in the military. Neither have I, but at least I appreciate the overwhelming sacrafice of those who have.

I used to be combat zones were defined geographically - you chop in on orders you get paid while there you chop out it halts.
If troops serving in a war zone needs to be shot at before getting combat pay, then that POS 0bama needs to actually work in order to receive vacation time.
Or Slick should get some back pay for exceptional acts of bravery while ducking thrown ashtrays.

In the VN war, I was told by an ANG B-52 driver he transported loaded 52’s to Viet Nam once a month, dropped his load(Rolling Thunder) went back to California, went back to his job as a cop and received his ANG monthly required drill AND combat pay. Never actually saw VN, in his monthly 40 minutes over the country during the entire four years he did this.
