Billionaire Gingrich Contributor [Sheldon Adelson] To Cut Support
Business Insider ^ | February 10, 2012 | Jaywon Choe

Posted on 02/10/2012 3:59:14 PM PST by GraniteStateConservative

While billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson may have rescued Newt Gingrich’s campaign in its early days, today, he may have just buried it.

Bloomberg News reports that Adelson, who has donated $11 million to Gingrich’s Super PAC, does not plan to send any more money Gingrich’s way. Bloomberg is citing an anonymous source “familiar with their deliberations,” though an Adelson spokesman declined to comment.

The move seems to be weeks in the making. After poor showings by Gingrich in the last several races and the re-resurgence of Rick Santorum, the former House speaker has once again been pushed to the back of the Republican field. And Adelson may be shifting his focus. According to CNN, Adelson met with Mitt Romney in Nevada last week and “assured Romney that he will be behind him 100 percent should he become the nominee.”

What may be more alarming though is as money seems to be flooding out of the Gingrich camp, it appears to be heading into to Santorum’s, no doubt helped by his three-state sweep Tuesday.

Better wait until your man Santorum is vetted before you celebrate. He has not been vetted, slammed by super pacs or the media yet.
You do know a lot can happen in a week..so you better hold off on your party favors.
Don’t count Newt out yet. You may be very disappointed.

I’m beginning to think everybody in this world is for sale:

Santorum’s supporters are about to do to Newt what they did to Perry.

For a country with 300 million people in it, $11 million doesn’t seem so much divided by 300 million.

And what they did to all the others. But not this time. FR’s owner said “Not again.”

Around here? That’ll be the day.

Governor Perry is all in for Newt. Even raising money for him.

You will know them by their fruits.

And I’d take pre-emptive action against some of them. They know who they are.

Santorum was swept into office for the first time during the gop revolution and thanks to Newt’s role in that great event. Santorum was voted out by a landslide in PA.
I have read and checked out Rick Santorums voting record and it is not what I consider to be that of a true conservative. There is NO comparison as to what Speaker Gingrich accomplished vs Santorum.
This surge does not concern me because I know what is coming..Newt has survived the slams...will Santorum? I doubt it.

I think it’s very funny that they object to Santorum being called “Mr Rogers” and “St. Rick” after all the things the others were called. The machine, not FR, hasn’t even started on him yet.

I don’t think the machine is going to start on Santorum any more than it has on mittens. Until one of them is the nominee.

This election couldn’t be more rigged. I can only imagine what skullduggery is being practiced on the electoral college as we speak.

But ngat gave me hope in his #120.

If it looks like Santorum is gaining ground they will go into attack mode.

Gingrich was paid a whole $35,000 per year.

For 45 years? Oh, but it was his company, not Newt, that pocketed the remaining $1,565,000.00. Tell me, just who are the owners of Newt's companies? The wife with the Tiffani's account, perhaps? Anybody else? Just where is that $1,565,000.00 that used to be in the treasury, and your pocket before that?

He is an opportunist that has been trading on his former speakership and stuffing his pockets as furiously as his face for fourteen years, while producing zero for anybody not looking for government favors. It isn't really credible for somebody that's gotten so fabulously rich milking big government, instead of working, to be preaching small government

Newt not much of a conservative....hum.....

Of course, there is this:
http://www.redstate.com/erick/2012/01/09/what-a-big-government-conservative-looks-like-2/

An actual voting record for Rick. And then there is the little matter of the ACU ratings. Newt-90, Santorum-88.1.
Rick is a good guy, I could support him if it was between he and Mitt BUT when it comes to actually VOTING on things, Newt is the Conservative here.

Gingrich- 32, 3 of those are non-binding
Paul- 13, 5 of those are non-binding

Total Delegate count needed to win- 1144

You’re precisely correct about the methods of attack that will be used against Santorum in a general election.

But Newt wouldn’t do any better. They’ll get all the moderate and independent women to hate Santorum based on his abortion and gay rights views....

But all of those women ALREADY hate Newt.

Your slanderous post is still standing because Jim Robinson is out for a few hours. Newt Gingrich has written over 23 books (gee he made money) and he owns a couple of small businesses (Gingrich Produtions (makes money!) with his wife Callista.

His previous work as a consultant for Freddy/Fanny is documented and he personally received $35K for his services.

Concern yourself with the bonuses paid to CEO's like Franklin Raines for example, to the tune of $65,000,000. Newt Gingrich's %35,000 per year for 4 years is chump change, but he earned it.

He released his Tax Returns. Check them out.

Where are Santorum's tax returns? He became a millionaire shortly after getting booted from office. How did he accomplish that?
