[Madison, Wisc...] Citizens not affiliated with either the recall organizations or the office holders targeted for recall this spring have found scores of problems with the petitions, but Wisconsins elections watchdogs have decided they will not consider any of their evidence.
GAB Director and General Counsel Kevin Kennedy said there is no process in place for accepting information from outside groups and individuals. Governor Scott Walker and the four Republican state senators against whom recall petitions were filed last month are the only parties that can contest the validity of signatures, according to Kennedy.
The GAB will not investigate or consider independently-submitted evidence of recall petition fraud. This includes circumstances wherein individuals might notify the board that their own name and forged signature were submitted.
According to the GAB, anyone concerned that their signature was fraudulently included on a recall petition, therefore, must notify not the GAB, but rather the target of the recall. In addition, they must do so by the challenge deadline if they want that signature reviewed and ultimately, possibly, struck.
Staff believes the Board should only rely on information that is developed by the staff in its petition review, submitted by the officeholders in a challenge or the petitioners in response to determine the sufficiency of recall petitions, wrote GAB Executive Director and General Counsel Kevin Kennedy in a memo to GAB members Tuesday.
The GAB discussion on the petition review criteria and process focused on their minimum statutory requirements. However nothing in state statutes prohibits the GAB from considering independently-gathered evidence of fraud.
Given the unprecedented nature of these recall efforts it would be improper to change procedures in the midst of our review, Kennedy wrote.
The four Republican state senators have until Thursday to challenge signatures. Governor Walkers challenges are due Feb. 27 and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch has until March 5 since she received copies of the petitions seeking her recall a week after Walker.
The GAB has until March 19 to verify all of the petitions.
MacIver News Bill Osmulski has more in this video report:
The GAB is supposed to be bipartisan. 5 of the 6 members were appointed by Doyle.
Verify the Recall is challenging this legally.

Walker recall ping!
The fix is in......................
I bet it is because Verify The Recall is finding a lot of stuff that is wrong......and we all know when the left does something big they do it really big.......
Ok, so why aren’t Governor Scott Walker and the four Republican state senators filing challenges?
i.e. unelected government employees, perhaps they have a conflict of interest. I mean their only employed to insure the veracity of the vote. Ignoring evidence is a part of that, no?
Good. I spent a great deal of time verifying those recall signatures. Some of them are SO obvious.....like the same hand writing in several of the signatures info spots that were apparently "missing" information.
Filled in, just like that.
you’d be collecting
In my data entry I’ve come across:
a whole petition with no city or zip
numerous missing necessary information
obvious forged sigs
sigs that don’t match the name
Its not only the blatant fraud but the large amounts of sigs that do not have all of the info properly filled out that should be struck.
Originally I had said that there would likely be close to 750K legit sigs now I’m thinking its going to be closer to 650K...its that blatantly bad.
Those “in power” know they can get away with their ruling, so they do not care what anyone else thinks, and they know their will be no ramifications that will adversely affect them, so again, they do not care what anyone else thinks.
Until these lowlifes are held responsible for their actions, they will continue to perpetrate fraud with no remorse.
I’m still entering, but will switch over to walker as soon as its complete.
Hm. I see “GAB” everywhere in this article. But it’s defined nowhere. What does “GAB” mean?
I called his office when I first heard they weren’t accepting “outside” help, a few weeks ago.
Spoke with the Deputy Director, a very nice lady, who said Verify the Recall won’t be used, only WI residents could take part of any verification.
She said petitions were not officially released (as of that time). I asked what I could do to help and she said just to continue to support Walker.
I didn’t feel that was enough. I asked her if at ANY time, I could do more to help to let me know. She took my name, number and email address.
GAB - Government Accountability Board. They’re supposedly a bipartisan group of retired judges who oversee elections in Wisconsin.
Ex-Gov. Doyle appointed 5 of the 6 on the current board. So much for “bipartisan” part. They’ve been putting roadblocks in our way all through this recall process.
Then, after the election he can institute a complete review of ALL of the petitions, name names and start prosecution proceedings against the collectors and any that submitted multiple entries.
Shining the light on these cockroaches and exposing massive fraud (mainly of the (D) variety) would help the voter ID initiatives in all other states. Hey, the MSM says voter fraud doesn't exist - this would knock their argument right out of the water.
One has been filed in one of the senate recall cases. Sen Scott Fitzgerald is contesting 3000 of the signatures. It is almost a mute point because no one has come forward to run against him.
The “lawless ones” have penetrated the whole system.
They can get away with ignoring this corruption, right in front of everyone’s faces. The “leaders” can get away with ignoring all evidence of corruption in all matters.
Sounds like the state senators, Gov. Walker and Lt. Gov. Kleefisch need to issue an immediate notice that the volunteer citizens are all officially designated as "unpaid temporary staff members", and then use their efforts in challenging signatures.
We at the Waukesha Republican Party went through the Walker petitions over a week ago. We were surprised to recive 8 boxes of Kleefish petitions on Saturday. They’re going through them now.
The GAB is so (insert nasty words here) that they’re making it as difficult as possible for us to go through the petitions in time.
The WI GOP and the Scott Walker campaign (Friends of Scott Walker) have legal standing to go through the petitions.
That is... if the “bipartisan” GAB arbitrarily decides otherwise.
Some Tea Party groups such as verifytherecall.com are also challenging petitions. The GAB said they can’t.
All of those phoney signers of the petition will vote in the Recall, probably multiple times.
Sue him personally and them as a group.
