Before the results from the Nevada caucuses came in, there were lots of rumors that Newt Gingrich would drop out of the race. But in an unusual post-caucus news conference, the former House speaker made it clear he has no intention of giving up the possibility of being the presidential nominee. No matter how slim. I am a candidate for president of the United States, I will be a candidate for president of the United States, Gingrich said. We will go to Tampa. He accused Romneys campaign of starting the rumor that they believe I will withdraw, which is of course their greatest fantasy.
........He also made it evident that rumors he was ready to switch to a positive message were mistaken. He quickly accused Mitt Romney of being a pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-tax increase, George Soros-approved candidate of the establishment. Still, he did lament how terrible it is that the American system is reduced to negative ads, but recognized its a fact that if youre not willing to stand and fight then you have to get out of the race.
Even as Gingrich insists his campaign is a bare-bones operation, a series of strategic meetings that took place over the week in Nevada made it clear there is now more of a team than Gingrich has let on, with new hires coming on board weekly, reports the Washington Post. Now Gingrich and his advisers are focusing on the math, analyzing how the former House speaker could clear a path to the 1,144 delegates needed to claim the nomination. A big part of that strategy will involve southern states and the campaign will place particular focus on his native Georgia as well as Tennessee, which vote on Super Tuesday, as well as Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri and Louisiana, reports the Post........

Newt's fundraising, staff, and volunteer network is growing at a faster rate that ever before.
Mitt Romney won Nevada, just like in 2008. The difference?:
Mitt Romney (Nevada) 2008: 51.1%
Mitt Romney (Nevada) 2012: 47.6%
Mitt actually UNDERPERFORMED his 2008 showing in Nevada! LOL
Newt Ping!!!!
The South is just around the corner, baby!!!
Willard is going to get the cold shoulder in the deep south. Can’t wait til voting day in Georgia.
The only ones who thought he was going to drop out were those who started this rumor, namely the Lame Stream Media.

Actually Newt Willie Mittys greatest fantasy is that he will beat Obama...
Yep. I seldom relish voting against an enemy as much as I will Bishop Willard Romney, slayer of fetuses, defender of bailouts, champion of sodomy and the oracle of whatever you want to believe. I look at the bishop and all of the dead soul Republicans endorsing him and regard them as a set of bowling pins. Set ‘em up, knock ‘em down, clear ‘em off.
Onward President Gingrich, onward!
If 0 gets another term he will finish his evil deeds
and there will be no turning back.
He hasn’t finished stacking his decks.
But, Newt isn’t on the ballot in Missouri!
Yes, that is a good sign. Romney causes voters to not want to go to the poles to vote.
If Gingrich can get his message out more will vote for him.
GO NEWT!
Sending Newt some cash today.....I’d encourage all FReepers to do the same, even if it’s just ten bucks
As long as the notion that Romney is inevitable nominee can be dispelled, I see no reason why Newt can’t sweep the south. If he does, he has a great chance of winning the nomination.
Newt isn’t on the ballot in the MO primary, which does not award any delegates.
They will award delegates at the caucus, which come later. Newt leads in the last couple of polls of likely MO caucus voters.
Newt will get MO’s delegates.
Could that monkey guy on Meet the Press be any more obnoxious???
Newt handled him well though.
Yes Ive heard that
Its WTA 58 delegates
how did he miss that state ???
It was not one of Romneys in 2008
McCain won, Huckabee came 2nd Romney 3rd
It was after FRed, Duncan Hunter, Gulianni had dropped out...
BTW in 2008 did Romney win any states that were NOT caucuses ???

We can get this ship turned around if these other states will not buy into the media’s lies and spin to which say Romney can only win the election to Obama. They used that in Florida as a big time weapon (kept repeating it over) We have to make certain (the best we can) is to get on talk radio, do emails and all sorts of things in all of those upcoming states to get the correct message out about Newt. The lies by the corrupt media is so sinful, almost like a part of evil to deliberately in destroying a candidate. I sure wish Sarah Palin would come to these other states in Super Tuesday to help show that the RNC are forcing a candidate on us. We know Romney will not bring out the base so we will have Obama again. She told us we cannot have 4 more years of Obama. He will be reelected. The disdain and the disrespect in which many hold for Romney is only getting stronger. Those (R) republicans moderates will vote for Romney who are not fighters. So, we have that plus the media add to Romney’s machine and the RNC machine. I pray the people don’t go weak. Reform is needed so badly.
Newt needs to bring Santorum in as VP and promise Paul a dept. head position to stop the old guard from ramming Mittens and the kenyan down our throats.
They want Newt in long enough to damage Romney for them.
Notice, the media is being extra nice to Mitt.
