President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast. Catholics Won't Get Fooled Again
Catholic Online ^ | 2/3/12 | Deacon Keith Fournier

Posted on 02/03/2012 4:39:43 AM PST by tcg

...President Obama spoke to the National Prayer Breakfast. As a Christian, I want to give him the respect due his office. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt because he professes to believe in the same Savior whom I also profess...

I will not refrain from pointing out the blatant and dangerous contradictions between his words and his actions as the President of the United States.

I am sure these words will soon be on the White House web site. I am also sure they will be utilized repeatedly as his campaign for reelection moves into high gear. He will attempt once again to persuade Catholics and other Christians to support his candidacy. The campaign has a "catholic strategy". It is precisely because of my deep concerns over that effort that I write...

President Obama has opened the flood gates to the unchecked killing of our youngest neighbors through legalized abortion. He has made it clear that Catholic and other Christian institutions will soon be forced to violate their conscience or face punitive consequences. Clearly, this administration intends to violate the constitutional rights of the Church under this unjust edict...

His Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius issued an Edict which demanded that Catholic hospitals and institutions dispense contraceptives (some of which are abortifacients) and offer sterilization under the so called "Affordable care Act". This government seeks to force the Catholic Church to violate conscience. Failure to do so will bring punitive measures from the new Caesar.

The unjust Edict came one day after Pope Benedict XVI addressed a group of US Bishops during their ad limina visit. He warned them of the growth of radical secularism in the United States and the accompanying threats to the fundamental Right to Religious Freedom. He was right!...

During the last Presidential campaign many Catholics were deluded by then Senator Barack Obama. His rhetoric uses language which sounds as though he agrees with Catholics on issues such as our obligation to the poor and the needy. His administration has acted in a manner which proves the opposite. The most egregious example is his failure to hear the cry of the children in the womb. However, there are many more, including his denial of religious freedom and his failure to defend marriage and the family and society founded upon it. His words at the National Prayer Breakfast call us to pray for him. However, we will not be fooled again.

Right.

Most Catholics I know, even in my own family, support not only birth control, but abortion. Their leftist ideology comes ahead of the Church.

Obama's Church: Gospel of Hate
Kathy Shaidle, FrontPageMag.com
Monday, April 07, 2008

In March of 2007, FOX News host Sean Hannity had engaged Obama’s pastor in a heated interview about his Church’s teachings. For many viewers, the ensuing shouting match was their first exposure to "Black Liberation Theology"...

Like the pro-communist Liberation Theology that swept Central America in the 1980s and was repeatedly condemned by Pope John Paul II, Black Liberation Theology combines warmed-over 1960s vintage Marxism with carefully distorted biblical passages. However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.

Catholics for Marx [Liberation Theology]
By Fr. Robert Sirico
FrontPageMagazine.com | Thursday, June 03, 2004

In the days when the Superpowers were locked in a Cold War, Latin America seethed with revolution, and millions lived behind an iron curtain, a group of theologians concocted a novel idea within the history of Christianity. They proposed to combine the teachings of Jesus with the teachings of Marx as a way of justifying violent revolution to overthrow the economics of capitalism.

The Gospels were re-rendered not as doctrine impacting on the human soul but rather as windows into the historical dialectic of class struggle. These "liberation theologians" saw every biblical criticism of the rich as a mandate to expropriate the expropriating owners of capital, and every expression of compassion for the poor as a call for an uprising by the proletarian class of peasants and workers.

> our obligation to the poor and the needy.

Our obligation to the poor and needy is not to be fulfilled by taking other people’s money by threat of force.

Our obligation to the poor is for us to give the money to Relgious charities that then administer to the poor.

Here are two questions to ask your religious friends who think the poor should be helped by the compulsion of the state.

1. Did you know that government agencies only give to the poor only about 10% of all the money that is ostensibly taken to help the poor, while religious based organizations dispense to the poor 90% of the money they take for that purpose on average?

2. Would you rather have religious people tending to the poor or faceless bureaucrats in union-run organizations with political connections?

The Real Story Behind Rev. Wright's Controversial Black Liberation Theology Doctrine
Monday , May 5, 2008
FoxNews/Hannity's America
[special Friday night edition--original airdate May 2, 2008]

(some key excerpts)

["(Jose) Diaz-Balart is the son of Rafael Diaz-Balart y Guitierrez (a former Cuban politician). He has three bothers, Rafael Diaz-Balart (a banker), Mario Diaz-Balart (a US Congressman) and Lincoln Diaz-Balart (also a US Congressman). His aunt, Mirta Diaz-Balart, was Fidel Castro's first wife."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jose_Diaz-Balart]

JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO NETWORK: "Liberation theology in Nicaragua in the mid-1980's was a pro-Sandinista, pro-Marxist, anti-U.S., anti-Catholic Church movement. That's it. No ifs, ands, or buts. His church apparently supported, in the mid-'80s in Nicaragua, groups that supported the Sandinista dictatorships and that were opposed to the Contras whose reason for being was calling for elections. That's all I know. I was there.

I saw the churches in Nicaragua that he spoke of, and the churches were churches that talked about the need for violent revolution and I remember clearly one of the major churches in Managua where the Jesus Christ on the altar was not Jesus Christ, he was a Sandinista soldier, and the priests talked about the corruption of the West, talked about the need for revolution everywhere, and talked about 'the evil empire' which was the United States of America."

REV. BOB SCHENCK, NATIONAL CLERGY COUNCIL: "it's based in Marxism. At the core of his [Wright's] theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God, and as part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive to be oppressing them, even acts of murder have been defended by followers of liberation theology. That's very, very dangerous."

SCHENCK: "I was actually the only person escorted to Dr. Wright. He asked to see me, and I simply welcomed him to Washington, and then I said Dr. Wright, I want to bring you a warning: your embrace of Marxist liberation theology. It is contrary to the Gospel, and you need, sir, to abandon it. And at that he dropped the handshake and made it clear that he was not in the mood to dialogue on that point."

There’s your 2 mistakes right there. And he exploits those shamelessly. Zero does NOT respect the office so why accord that respect. He takes your benefit of the doubt for granted and quashes it while piously demanding it from you.

FBO!

A person who would take a life to ensure that he is not inconvenienced is a person who has little worth. They are devoid of morals. This man is two-faced. He says he serves God. He cannot truly believe if he can stand there and support abortion. God said ‘Thou shalt not kill’. He didn’t set age limits. He didn’t qualify it in any way. Obama is a hypocrite. I believe, and I also know that taking a life to prevent inconvenience is wrong.

“Obama is a hypocrite.”

Progressives constantly, unendingly, talk about the separation of church and state. Yet, there they are, spouting scripture and associating government with religion for the purpose of furthering a far-left agenda. (Could these Progressives be the bible-thumping morons that these very same Progressives refer to?)

Just asking.

IMHO

Catholics Won't Get Fooled Again

What makes the author think they were fooled last time

And it depends how you define a Catholic or any other religion

People who say they are Catholic ?--Like Pelosi

Hell I Have seen a car with an Obama sticker on the left side of the bumper and an Abortion Stops A Beating Heart on the right side parked in the Catholic Church Lot during Sunday Mass

SEAN HANNITY: But Reverend Jeremiah Wright is not backing down and has not for years and in his strong stance on the teaching of black liberation theology is nothing new. He had the same things to say last spring when he appeared on "Hannity & Colmes:"

WRIGHT: If you're not going to talk about theology in context, if you're not going to talk about liberation theology that came out of the '60s, systematized black liberation theology that started with Jim Cone in 1968 and the writings of Cone and the writings of Dwight Hopkins and the writings of womynist theologians and Asian theologians and Hispanic theologians, then you can't talk about the black value system.

HANNITY: But I'm a — reverend

WRIGHT: Do you know liberation theology, sir?

IF, in an alternate universe, 0bama had been waxing eloquent in the Temple about how Jesus would have wanted to "tax the rich" (one of Zero's recent pronouncements), the slimy Kenyan fraud would have been the FIRST one that Jesus grabbed by the neck and thrown OUT of that Temple ass over teacups, along with the rest of that den of thieves and robbers.

Don't misunderstand: I pray for 0bama, I pray that Almighty God will light up his azz with a major league lightning bolt!

Actually, I think we are about to witness ...”the great falling away.”

We’ve seen it slowly happening, but now it will be as a lightening bolt between Christians and christians.

As I stated on another thread I admire the Catholic Church’s stand, but if they capitulate and drop medical coverage for their staff etc. This places individuals at a very distinct turning point in their faith.

The new 0bamacare law requires birth control coverage and abortion funding by the insurance companies. If I understand these things correctly, they are required...meaning I as a Christian, will not be able to buy insurance without paying for these things. If the individual refuses...we will be punished by our government.

So this does go very much deeper than just the Catholic staff. There is a great falling away going to happen because as someone admitted ...how can they not carry medical insurance?

It is a tough, tough call to make.

Medical insurance vs. Heaven insurance

Canon Law says those committing murder, abortion, and heresy are automatically excommunicated.

I believe Ayn Rand referred to it as “the sanction of the victim”. Not only is the president stealing our money and dignity, but requesting us to publicly approve of his actions. I suggest that a boycott of the Prayer Breakfast would be a good start.

I agree. I know a family who sits in church every Sunday with their Catholic school educated children and they all plan to vote for Obama. Democratism trumps religion. Socialism sounds good to them. And government is their master (and employer by the way).

The Catholic vote will go for Obama. They don’t care about social issues such as abortion. (Remember Notre Dame?) They care about socialist and union issues. As a matter of fact, I know Christians of all religious persuasion who will forgive Obama for his weak leadership. “He’s doing his best.”

So long as the good people of America are tuned into the daily entertainment media we will not overcome the cultural bullying of conservative, free market principles. The only freedom that the media culture loves is their freedom to do/say whatever they want to whomever they want. No other freedom is sacred to them. Give them that and they happily do the bidding of the left.
