House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) vowed today that she will join with the Obama administration in standing up against the Catholic Church in defending a new regulation that will require Catholic individuals to buy, and Catholic institutions to provide, health insurance plans that cover sterilizations and artificial contraceptives, including those that induce abortions....
At her Wednesday press briefing, CNSNews.com asked Pelosi: "The administration has issued a regulation that will require all health-care plans to cover sterilization and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that induce abortions. This would force Catholic individuals and institutions to act against their consciences. All across the nation, Catholic bishops are saying-"
Pelosi responded: "Is this a speech, or do we have a question in disguise as a speech?"
CNSNews.com continued..."Catholic bishops are saying they will not comply with this law. Will you stand with your fellow Catholics in resisting this law or will you stick by the administration?"
Pelosi: "First of all, I am going to stick with my fellow Catholics in supporting the administration on this. I think it was a very courageous decision that they made, and I support it."

Read Bill Weise’s “23-minutes in Hell” and what will be greeting her is too horrible to contemplate.
I wrote Impeachment and meant excommunication, but impeachment sounds good too.
She stand with her “fellow catholics” Who would that be. Those other politicians who claim to be Catholic and approve of abortion?
She is certainly no fellow Catholic to me. I wouldn’t spit on her if she were on fire.
Our parish priest didn't even read the letter last weekend. I'm sure so the dear Senator would not be offended and withhold her tithing.
After her announcement she said, “Now you’ll have to excuse me, I’m on my way to receive Communion.”
“Supreme Grand Knight Carl Anderson
Sounds a little KKK’ish to me.”
Make it stop!
The Knights of Columbus are an old, excellent group of men who were formed many years ago by a priest who wanted to create a place for men to go who were not paying attention to their duties as spiritual guides of their communities and families. They do so much good for communities and for the men who belong.
The Church and all of its sanctioned groups are as far from bigotry as any human organization. The KKK persecuted the Catholic Church as far as their power could do so so please don’t further their cause.
Stop!
Here is where the “rubber hits the road.” Will her Priest or Bishop allow her to receive Communion? Will they admonish her in a public way as she has done by denouncing and blatantly stood against God and his Church?
This is one fight they’re going to lose. The 60’s feminists who pride themselves on killing the unborn are a dying breed. There were thousands of young women and girls participating in the recent March for Life.
If you dust off and think for a millisecond, you will realize that knighthood is chivalrous and that the term originated at the lates in the Middle Ages and that knighthood is a symbol of virtue.
Any group using this term for anything other than as a symbol of virtue and it is they who sound a little chivalrous. If they are not so, then they are mocking virtue by using the term, or usurping it.
What a marroon!
After she’s out, the only thing she’ll ever be Speaker of is Speaker of the Stupids!
THIS is why have no respect for the Catholic Church. As of RIGHT NOW, the Catholic Church should be ex-communicating this witch. They won’t and will continue to wonder why no one believes their convictions.
Isn’t there a rotting pine cone or 3 that could be stuck in fitting places on her personage?
Absolutely indeed.
Part of me wants to say it’s unbelievable of me, but that would be a mere figure of speech. It is, as we all know, only too believable. I can picture Pelosi working in an abortion clinic if it would keep her in power. Like the Kennedys and other nominal Catholics, she takes secularism so seriously and the edicts of the Democrat Party that she won’t impose her religion even on herself.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find they tried a excorcist several time but to know avail.
Here in CT, many Catholics agree with friend-of-Tiller Sebelius and Pelosi.
As a Catholic who grew up as an [unmolested] altar boy and who attended parochial school through high school, I have seen the distortion and decline within the Church over the last four decades.
I can no longer attend, as it has swung so hard to left. The Church has chosen to ignore it’s own doctrines by not enforcing it’s beliefs.
It’s anything goes in the Catholic Church.
The majority of Catholics I speak to are simply Catholics out of habit. They conveniently refuse to acknowledge the obvious contradictions between their purported faith and their liberal politics.
I spoke to a number of Catholics about Obama speaking at Notre Dame. Not one had a problem with it. Some shrugged their shoulders as if to say, “Oh well, what are you going to do?”
I spoke to the Deacon [an Obstetrician!] at our local church and he thought it was GREAT that Notre Dame was reaching out to the Abortionist in Chief.
Around here, when it comes to the Catholic Church, forget about it. I doubt Sebelius or Pelosi will be kicked out... if it hasn’t happened yet, it ain’t gonna happen.
No! She's a devout Catholic. She said so herself. (spit)
Canon Law and Church Teaching
Canon 1398: A person who procures a completed abortion incurs a latae sententiae excommunication.
Canon 751: Heresy is the obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after the reception of baptism of some truth which is to be believed by divine and Catholic faith; apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith; schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him.
Canon 1364 §1: an apostate from the faith, a heretic, or a schismatic incurs a latae sententiae excommunication.
The phrase latae sententiae means a judgment or sentence which is wide (latae) or widely applied; it refers to a type of excommunication which is automatic. Such a sentence of excommunication is incurred by the very commission of the offense, (CCC 2272) and does not require the future particular judgment of a case by competent authority.
Apostasy, heresy, and schism are all offences which incur a sentence of excommunication automatically. Heresy is the obstinate denial of any truth of the Catholic faith, on a matter of faith or morals, which has been definitively taught by the Magisterium. The Magisterium has repeatedly and definitively taught that abortion is always gravely immoral. (CCC 2270 to 2275)
Courage, or the lack of it, on the part of the bishops.
"All that is needed for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing."
And some have put "social justice" ahead of their religion.
The Bishop should ex-communicate her.
