House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) vowed today that she will join with the Obama administration in standing up against the Catholic Church in defending a new regulation that will require Catholic individuals to buy, and Catholic institutions to provide, health insurance plans that cover sterilizations and artificial contraceptives, including those that induce abortions....
At her Wednesday press briefing, CNSNews.com asked Pelosi: "The administration has issued a regulation that will require all health-care plans to cover sterilization and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that induce abortions. This would force Catholic individuals and institutions to act against their consciences. All across the nation, Catholic bishops are saying-"
Pelosi responded: "Is this a speech, or do we have a question in disguise as a speech?"
CNSNews.com continued..."Catholic bishops are saying they will not comply with this law. Will you stand with your fellow Catholics in resisting this law or will you stick by the administration?"
Pelosi: "First of all, I am going to stick with my fellow Catholics in supporting the administration on this. I think it was a very courageous decision that they made, and I support it."

Kathleen Sebelius is a Catholic ~ until you guys kick her out.
To ask what Jesus would do (and then woodenly carry it out) certainly seems to miss the fact that Jesus was special with a special mission. Yet, to call God an idol is a paradox at best, great blasphemy at worst.
Really?
No one is calling God an idol. The reference is to the “self”. When you put yourself in God’s great seat of judgment, and start imagining “What Would God Do”, that is idolotry.
She probably thinks it would rightly be something like the Untied (sic) Methodist Church. No aspersion meant to the few Methodist churches that have still retained their scriptural and godly fire — I’ve seen them in Mississippi, for example.
I believe such a grave charge requires some supporting documentation. Answering the question out of the bible is not an example of any kind of idolatry, even if the answer is of limited direct use. (Jesus never married, as an obvious example.)
I guess y'all missed the memo. This whole nation, from top to bottom - inside & outside is CORRUPT. Until that changes there will be no recovery & I sure don't see it ever better in my lifetime or that of my children.
She will be excommunicated when? NEVER! Even the Catholic Church has no principles.
Think of 50 million aborted babies "greeting" her when she dies...
It's where you imagine yourself to be God. This is a common problem!
She should be excommunicated. I don’t think the church would do it. If they had the strength to do so, it would be a powerful message to the cafeteria types.
No, of course the Knights of Columbus, a Mason-esque style orthodox Roman Catholic men’s club, isn’t anything like the Ku Klux Klan. Perhaps the titling conventions are unhelpful, but nothing is supposedly taking place that isn’t under the main church’s authority.
Her false god is obviously Obama ,her messiah.
The Church should make a public announcement of her impeachment and ask—no demand— that she never darken it’s doors again.
Documentation of your “common problem” is essential to it not being a strawman.
Amen.
The Church should make a public announcement of her impeachment and askno demand that she never darken its doors again./
I agree. Its past time for the church to start doing its job...THE WILL OF THE LORD. Anyone who defies God should be ex-communicated immediately. The church should wake-up. The Lord is watching and some bishops are going to pay a heavy price.
I don't think something of this nature requires much more documentation than to point to those who do it.
I think what you want to do is get me to say something about writing up a lesson plan for Sunday School ~ which, to do, you necessarily go to the Scriptures for guidance in the matter. You wouldn't then put words in Jesus' mouth that he didn't say.
Everybody always goes to the Scriptures. Then there are those who just make it up. There's a difference even if you can't discern it.
Were you being courageous then? Or do you have a religious bias?
