The Council on American-Islamic Relations announced Monday night that it had successfully prevented retired Lieutenant General William G. “Jerry” Boykin from speaking at an upcoming prayer breakfast at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
“We welcome Mr. Boykin’s withdrawal from this event and hope that the speaker who replaces him will offer cadets a spiritual message that promotes tolerance and mutual understanding,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad in a statement.
West Point initially balked at the calls to remove Boykin — a former military intelligence officer — from the event.
Lt. Col. Sherri Reed of West Point told The Associated Press that cadets are “purposefully exposed to different perspectives and cultures.”
“The National Prayer Breakfast Service will be pluralistic with Christians, Jewish, and Muslim cadets participating,” Reed said. “We are comfortable and confident that what retired Lt. Gen. Boykin will share about prayer, soldier care and selfless service, will be in keeping with the broad range of ideas normally considered by our cadets.”
Boykin backed out of the event on his own volition, according to a report from Fox News.
The retired lieutenant general has been on CAIR’s radar for casting Islam in a poor light, specifically in speeches in which he analogizing the War on Terror to a war against Satan.
CAIR and the group VoteVets.org pushed hard for a retraction of Boykin’s invitation to the event due to his “Islamophobic” views.
CAIR and People For the American Way failed to stop a speech Boykin gave in Ocean City, Md., last week. This week it seems they have been successful.

If West Point is like any other military school, pressure will be applied to ensure a "satisfactory" attendance. Theoretically, you are correct, of course. When reality steps in, theoretical goes down the drain when the military is involved.
When is it going to be forcefully brought home to PC people that giving in to Muzzie demands is being against and infringing upon the rights of Christians?
These people are enemies of our country in that they put their religion above the law.

In the old America, a retired general would’ve told those filthy knuckledraggers to piss off, because he’s going to be there, chest out, standing tall.
In New America, it’s fashionable to cower at the first sign of pressure from that most protected “victim” group... muslims.
I’m surprised that there are Muslim cadets because that is more than a faith religion. It is/includes a promoting of government outside the bounds and foundation of our Constitution. I believe this shows how much of our Nation’s heritage has been bought by oil money.It is difficult for me to imagine a Muslim holding to an oath seemingly dedicated to the spirit of our Constitution.

From 1978-1993 Boykin was assigned in various capacities to Delta Force. By 1980 he was the Delta Force operations officer on the April 24–25 Iranian hostage rescue attempt.
In October 1983, Maj. Boykin worked as an operations officer during Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada. During a dawn assault to free some Grenada government officials held by the Marxist People’s Revolutionary Army, Boykin was shot in the arm with a .50 caliber round, splitting the bone completely in two. He was told he would never use it again, but his arm healed, which Boykin again believed God was responsible for[citation needed].
In 1989, Boykin was in Panama as part of the mission to apprehend Manuel Noriega.[1]
From 1990 to 1991 he was at the Army War College. In 1992 and early 1993, as a colonel, Boykin was in Colombia leading a mission to hunt for drug lord Pablo Escobar.
In October 1993, Colonel Boykin was in command of the Delta Force tracking down militia leader Mohamed Farrah Aidid in Somalia,
Boykin served the CIA as Deputy Director of Special Activities. He was later made Deputy Director for Operations, Readiness, and Mobilization when assigned to the Army Staff.[2]
From April 1998 to February 2000, he served as the Commanding General, U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. From March 2000-2003, he was the Commanding General, United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center, Fort Bragg, N.C. In June 2003, he was appointed Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence under Dr. Stephen Cambone, Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
LTG Boykin retired on August 1, 2007 and currently teaches at Hampden-Sydney College.
Boykin went to Armed Forces Staff College, Army War College, and Shippensburg University (where he received a Masters Degree). His badges include the Master Parachutist Badge, Military Freefall Badge, Ranger Tab and Special Forces Tab. Medals and awards include: “the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Legion of Merit (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Bronze Star, Air Medal and the Purple Heart (with Oak Leaf Cluster).
We did have lecture series that could be brutally boring that was mandatory. One year they paid an honorarium to Carl Sagan so he could get up in front of the Brigade and tell us we should slash defense unilaterally.
