Athaliah Reigns over Judah
11Now when Athaliah, Ahaziah’s mother, saw that her son was dead, she set about to destroy all the royal family. 2But Jehosheba, King Joram’s daughter, Ahaziah’s sister, took Joash son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s children who were about to be killed; she put* him and his nurse in a bedroom. Thus she* hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not killed; 3he remained with her for six years, hidden in the house of the Lord, while Athaliah reigned over the land.
Jehoiada Anoints the Child Joash
4 But in the seventh year Jehoiada summoned the captains of the Carites and of the guards and had them come to him in the house of the Lord. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath in the house of the Lord; then he showed them the king’s son. 5He commanded them, ‘This is what you are to do: one-third of you, those who go off duty on the sabbath and guard the king’s house 6(another third being at the gate Sur and a third at the gate behind the guards), shall guard the palace; 7and your two divisions that come on duty in force on the sabbath and guard the house of the Lord * 8shall surround the king, each with weapons in hand; and whoever approaches the ranks is to be killed. Be with the king in his comings and goings.’
9 The captains did according to all that the priest Jehoiada commanded; each brought his men who were to go off duty on the sabbath, with those who were to come on duty on the sabbath, and came to the priest Jehoiada. 10The priest delivered to the captains the spears and shields that had been King David’s, which were in the house of the Lord; 11the guards stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, from the south side of the house to the north side of the house, around the altar and the house, to guard the king on every side. 12Then he brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, and gave him the covenant;* they proclaimed him king, and anointed him; they clapped their hands and shouted, ‘Long live the king!’
Death of Athaliah
13 When Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she went into the house of the Lord to the people; 14when she looked, there was the king standing by the pillar, according to custom, with the captains and the trumpeters beside the king, and all the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Athaliah tore her clothes and cried, ‘Treason! Treason!’ 15Then the priest Jehoiada commanded the captains who were set over the army, ‘Bring her out between the ranks, and kill with the sword anyone who follows her.’ For the priest said, ‘Let her not be killed in the house of the Lord.’ 16So they laid hands on her; she went through the horses’ entrance to the king’s house, and there she was put to death.
17 Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord and the king and people, that they should be the Lord’s people; also between the king and the people. 18Then all the people of the land went to the house of Baal, and tore it down; his altars and his images they broke in pieces, and they killed Mattan, the priest of Baal, before the altars. The priest posted guards over the house of the Lord. 19He took the captains, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land; then they brought the king down from the house of the Lord, marching through the gate of the guards to the king’s house. He took his seat on the throne of the kings. 20So all the people of the land rejoiced; and the city was quiet after Athaliah had been killed with the sword at the king’s house.

Talk to Jesus as he is your friend and know he is listening Jim.... Someone here in the forum asked me to send him a prayer as he was having troubled times. He is seeing results of those words now.
He is here for you, He wants to know you, He only knows what you want and need by you humbly asking and Praying for them. I Pray constantly for Guidance and HIS Wisdom. And I Thank Him for you, for this forum, for being alive another day.
I have just been asked to be coordinator for Newt in NY, I will be working with the TEA Parties and hoping to get them as excited with Newt as we did for our Governors race.

A Military Prayer

Many people have never heard a Chaplin give a military prayer. Many of you have never attended a military church service. Let me warn you that some military prayers are-——striking and strongly worded. I am also no Chaplin but I would like to say a prayer for our children soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines that are on duty in over 100 countries around the world.
My Dear Lord God in heaven:
Thank you for letting me come before you, through Jesus Christ, with this petition. On bended knee I humble myself, as Your child. A child of God—a child of Jesus—a child of the Holy Spirit—a child of my parents and a child of the United States of America.
I ask your forgiveness my Father for my sins. I ask for your protection from evil. I ask for your love. I know I ask a lot and all You ask for is our love. But Father I come before you now in hard times. In a time of world war, terrorism, false religions, hate and doubt . . . Killing, tyrants, despots, anarchist and people who would lead others into aiding the enemy… The enemy of a righteous God and the only true God.
Lord, we have many fine young men and women who are serving their country in these evil times. They are lonely, scared, cold, hot, sleep depraved, hungry and home sick. But they are strong Lord. They are strong in spirit, strong in patriotism and strong in You. Be their rock and their shield my Father.
Give them power over their enemies Lord. May the enemies of our country tremble before your soldiers and may we walk upon their ashes. May the dogs of the street lap up the blood of our enemies and may the vultures of the sky eat of their flesh.
Father, I ask that you place the shield of your Spirit around our soldiers. I ask that you comfort them and guide them in their Holy Crusade to rid the world of evil. Be their eyes and ears Lord and let no evil befall them. Grant our armed forces the power to kill the enemy and return home to their loving families.
Lord, comfort the wounded. Take their pain away and replace it with Your grace. Hold them in Your arms and wipe their tears away. Talk with them and let them know that we all love them and are proud of them and support them. Let no word of doubt come to them from traitors in their own country.
And my Father, take our honored dead into your bosom . . . Comfort them in their new duty assignments . . . Make them soldiers of the Lord God.
May they ride beside the Christ upon His return.
And comfort the ones they leave behind.
May they rejoice in knowing that their loved ones are with You and that our children were always Yours to begin with.
And You know best . . . Grant them the comfort of family, friends and a grateful Nation.
Father, stand beside us in this world war . . . Be our guiding light. Open the eyes of the doubters and unite us as one Nation under God.
And Lord: Our country needs you. We have sinned and we confess it to You. Bring us back to You. Don’t forsake us. Give us the leaders You choose to save this country. It may be a sin and if it is I ask forgiveness: But I love this great land you have given us and I know Your loving hand has been upon us. Please don’t forget us—Please make us great again as only You can. Freedom is fleeing from us.

There probably isn’t any non-great prayer about this, as long as it is sincere and true to the bible. And it probably ought to be accompanied by prayer for the rest of the country. Even if Newt morphs from an already very effective politician into something absolutely stellar himself, he can’t singlehandedly save a blase, lukewarm America.
And God is never tired of even vanilla “please help” prayers from His believing children. Because the Holy Spirit is there to fill in what is meant by “help.” He makes intercessions with groans that are too deep for words.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the blessings You have poured out upon this country; freedom of speech, freedom to worship, freedom to pursue our life’s goals as conscience dictates, prosperity, strength to protect against outside aggression, and the prestige to show Christ’s glory to the far reaches and darkest corners of the Earth. For two hundred years we were one nation under God; and You showed Your approval by raising us up to become the mightiest, most productive, most advanced society the world has ever seen.
Then for some reason our nation turned away from You; we rejected Your laws, sought after different god’s and strange new morality, we became embarrassed of our heritage and our relationship and our dependence on You. When the world looks at us now, they no longer see the citadel of western Christianity, shining brightly and unassailable. Rather they see the degeneracy of Hollywood, the avarice of those who seek gain they have not earned, and the corruption of government elites.
We ask, Lord, that You return the hearts of this people towards You. Raise up Godly leaders at this time, and let people vote for integrity, Godly behavior,and Godly principles as revealed in Your Word. Lord, let us turn from our current pursuit of revel and unearned gain, drugs and licentious acts, and all the snares which have captured our minds and separated us from you. Let us find the old Christian values of desiring only what we have earned and only our own spouse, rather than coveting those possessed by another. Let us be men of integrity, true to our words. Let us work in our own fields and eat the fruit of our own labor.
Lord, we recognize that in order to have Godly leadership we must CHOOSE Godly leadership. And we ask Your wisdom and strength of character to do that as a nation. Open the eyes of this people to the truth, pour out Your Spirit on this people, draw us back to You, and teach us again to follow You.
Thank you for your loving kindness and God bless the United States of America.

And so I pray also - Dear Lord, please bless the Santorums and their daughter. May Your will be done in this situation. PLease give this family strength to face whatever is going on. Protect this child from pain, from suffering, and allow them all to be comforted at this time by your peace.
And for Newt Gingrich, please surround him and his wife Callista and family with a hedge of protection, both physical and spiritual. Guide his heart with Your mighty hand. We thank you for this talented leader, realizing that he has been blessed with this talent by You, and for an intended purpose. We seek Your guidance in discerning true wisdom as to who to elect, who to support, and who to choose from in this most important time in our country’s history.
We seek YOUR forgiveness for our transgressions, for failing to do what we should have done, for failing, at times, to allow greed or complacency to reign in our lives. May we as Americans realize the blesssings You have bestowed upon as as Americans, and be faithful to always guard this country and promote the wisdom of our Founders, who, in turn, derived their wisdom from You. Father God, hear our prayers. Holy Spirit, move upon Your people in this land and cause them to repent and come close to God; fill them with Your Spirit and move them to do what is good and right.
Lord, bring about a revival upon this nation, for the sake of those who believe in You, that our suffering will cease, for the future of our children and grandchildren is gravely at stake. Bless us leaders who look to You for the guidance and wisdom to lead this country out of the enslavement to which we have fallen.
Christ, bind the enemy’s arrows and lies and prevent them from having effect upon the people of this country. Have those who follow and do the will of the enemy fall into the traps by which they wish to ensnare the upright in heart. Protect those who submit to You and worship You and keep them in Your care.
I ask that you pour out your blessings and protection upon Newt Gingrich and his wife and family. Cause him to speak and lead with conviction and sincerity and in accordance with Your will. Let those who hear his words be opened to the Truth and thereafter, do what is right and good, so Your people can reclaim their country from the enemy who has, for too long, taken us down a long, dark and sinful road by which we have been brought into captivity.
