Unbeknownst to the press, President Obama met this evening with former president George H.W. Bush and his son, former Florida governor Jeb Bush in the Oval Office.
White House officials did not list the meeting on the president's schedule but released a photo through Flickr and Twitter.
According to the date and time stamp on the photo, it was taken shortly after 5 p.m. That's about the time Obama returned to the White House from a fundraiser at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
White House officials did not immediately respond to questions about the subject of the meeting and its exclusion from Obama's public schedule.
Jeb Bush has played a critical role in the GOP primary contest in Florida -

Obviously you can’t talk intelligently without using 4 letter words.
I took a look. GHW Bush was way too chummy with Bill Clinton in a New World Order kind of way where who is President, Democrat or Republican, really doesn’t matter
Thanks again ... sooo much.
I love Free Republic, but I only wish I had the ability to zot !! ;)
The Gulf states are ascendent and will or are challenging the Europeans selling in to their former African and Asian colonial strongholds.
They play the game well. They are capitalists of the first order.
Much has been written about supposedly close business and personal ties between the Bush family & the house of Saud in Saudi Arabia. We’ve also seen past articles regarding Obama’s potential Saudi benefactors, and their supposed financial help in his education and rise to power. Not to mention Obama’s deep bow to the Saudi king. Conspiracy theories? Pictures like this do make me wonder. Possible Bush/Obama pow-wow regarding a common friend & benefactor, and that benefactor’s desire to influence the outcome of American politics?
Thank you for the FRlink.
Did we ever find out what was the outcome of that 2010 meeting?
Also, did we miss the Jan 2011 meeting? or are these meetings scheduled only for even years (trivia question)
I don’t know the purpose of either meeting. However, it is curious that the meetings occurred almost exactly two years apart, both in late January.

I smell the methane gas all the way here to the Republic of Panama.
You exude hate. I’d tell you to get stuffed, but it seems you already are... bigtime.
They might have had a little chat about Iran options.
I saw Jeb in an interview right about the time of the Florida primary, and I didn’t hear him slam Newt at all! He didn’t endorse Mitt either. He was pretty critical of Obama too! I guess you didn’t see that interview either, didn’t you? In fact, he said something like the Pres. not showing leadership on, (I think)the Pipeline issue.
He didn’t act rudely about him, but he said some pretty critical things about Obama! He also said he had no intentions, at least for the near future, of running for President himself! I think the interview was w/Neil Cavuto, I’m not sure.
Please dont introduce reality into this discussion
I know. I guess it doesn’t pay to spoil a full-boiling rant about GHWB or his family on here! I can’t believe how poisonous it has become on here these days.. Some of the hateful things on said on here, (yeah, I know they have the right)about the Bushes makes me sick!
I guess there’s not many people on here anymore who remember any of the good things the Bushes did. Like someone said before, maybe we should cut him (GHWB)some slack. He wasn’t Reagan, but he wasn’t terrible, or something like that! (not full, exact quote)Well I don’t think he was such a bad president either!
Why must so many on here have to assume they’re there to pick on N. Gingrich? I like Newt basically. I’ll probably vote for him if he’s in the contest still by the time Utah votes. However, it seems to me that Newt had some pretty nasty things to say about GWB (the younger)! I’ll never know what they were all about. But I do know that they were said!
Several Republicans turned on GWB near the end of 2ond term. And they weren’t all ‘true conservatives’ either! Many were considered moderates by some on here, like Gov. Huckabee. Yes, even Newt is considered to be a moderate by many on here, and he was trashing GWB! Some might not have been verbally critical, but they turned a cold shoulder on him toward the end!
Apparently Jesse Jackson Jr forgot to tell Zero to “STAY OUT THE BUSHES”.
I remember and continue to admire GW...this place is now full of brain dead BDS people ...Very sad
I also find the hatred of Karl Rove ludicrous
the man is now a commentator ...that means he comments.
He sometimes says things people dont want to hear ...it is his job.
Finally when everyone is called a Rino ....no one is a Rino....
I am starting to think we are back in Jr High where one day Mary is friends with Betty and the next day Betty is a “skag” Its very sad
