No Murtha Ship!
Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus plans to honor the late Congressman John Murtha by giving his name to the Navy's new LPD (Transport Dock Ship), to be launched in 2013.
In doing so, Sec. Mabus is breaking the Navy's tradition of naming its San Antonio-class amphibious transports after American cities. He is also honoring a man who:
We believe that such a man does not deserve to be honored by the U.S. Navy. If you agree, please help us petition Secretary Mabus to reconsider this outrageous decision....

Sgt Tim, Much thanks for putting the icon on your website and for your brilliant suggestion on naming this ship:

If any name should be on that ship, it is the name of this noble Hero who gave his life that morning in Haditha!

How disgusting that Sec Mabus would name a Navy ship after Cesar Chavez, who described his two short years in the military like this:
Later, Chávez described his experience in the military as the two worst years of my life.

Now Mabus wants to name a ship after a corrupt Ex Marine who turned his back on his Brothers. John Murtha never understood the meaning of Semper Fi! He called our Haditha Marines cold blooded killers before an investigation was ever complete. The pain and suffering he caused these brave Marines and their families was devastating! John Murtha is dead and we are left with his traitorous name and his betrayal of his Brothers. His name belongs in the Hall of Traitors, not on a Navy ship carrying noble men!

Yeah I know, I had to do a little searching but found out why Medgar Evers had ship named for him. It was because he promised, while he was Gov., Mrs Evers he would make sure Medgar was remembered forever. Like 40,000 streets, buildings and airport weren’t enough.

The RIFs were already in place at that time. He was not given the option of active duty for any period, only an 8 year Reserve obligation. If I recall correctly, he was a sophomore when he elected to commit to the program, and the draft ended shortly thereafter.
One of his classmates had a full ride ROTC scholarship and he was RIF'd too. Reserve duty only.
If the Army was drawing down then, I'm sure the Navy was too, and probably sooner.
Oh, dear Lord!
Murtha is the very LAST person who deserves this honor!
“Save Us from Mabus Mississippi” bump!
The Navy pipeline was still wide open.
LOL!
mabus is a commie butt plug for obama... he will wipe his backside with our letters. I will send one anyway. I hope that the rat gets a paper cut!

I’m going to send letters. This so pisses me off. That delta bravo shouldn’t have a ship named after him. Scum!
