Drudge, conservative media criticize Newt Gingrich (Drudge pulls an Oprah on his loyal readers...)
Politico ^ | 1/26/11 | JIM VANDEHEI and MIKE ALLEN

Newt Gingrich better hope voters who lapped up his delicious hits on the “elite media” and liberals don’t read the Drudge Report this morning.

Or the National Review. Or the American Spectator. Or Ann Coulter.

If they do, Gingrich comes off looking like a dangerous, anti-Reagan, Clintonian fraud.

It’s as if the conservative media over the past 24 hours decided Gingrich is for real, and they need to come clean about the man they really know before it’s too late.

Question; I read the statements made by Newt about Reagan. Are they false? If so, they should be proven false and used to pound Drudge. But if they are true what does this say about Newt? Has he gone around the country claiming to be the embodiment of the Reagan message and ideals while having held and published these clearly derogatory opinions of President Reagan in his past? If true then Newt is either a liar for making his claim to Reagan’s mantle or a fool for thinking he could make such a claim and not have his past uncovered. Newt must respond to Drudge’s posts and show how they are false and or taken completely out of context.

From the article:
“A top conservative media figure said the flood of attacks reflects a ‘Holy crap, it could happen’ moment in the movement, as Republican leaders began to realize after Gingrich’s South Carolina victory that he could become the nominee, the global face and voice of their party and theology.”

True. But conservatives look at Romney and say, “Holy crap, it could happen.” And it will be a disaster.

Judging by his actions, he's probably just another soul-less progressive, NE liberal pretend republican. Same for Coulter.

I don't know whether or not Drudge has a patriotic bone in his body one way or another, but he does have a business running his website.

The more traffic he attracts, the more hits his website gets, the more money he can make.

So, I can only guess how serious he is for or against any candidate, but attacking Gingrich is probably good for his business. Same for Coulter.

I hear ya, but it’s a good motivational tool to get freepers to use their computers to support Newt. If you’re on the Florida state message board please put the three links there and ask folks to send out to their email list, face book friends and ask all to forward the information. we can’t sit back and assume Newt will do ALL the work. Take nothing for granted.

Thanks

They also need to be sent to folks on Rush and Sarah lists
so they can do the same.

If Drudge/Coulter etc want to FU their careers we still need to contradict their actions.

Know anyone creating ads : the clip of Nancy Reagan saying Ronnie passed the torch to Newt is invaluable.

Problem is, I’m old enough to remember the Reagan administration - and things did not get magically better when Reagan replaced Carter (well, a few things did...). There WAS a bit of a struggle in the years of his first term.
Then Reagan signed on to the tax cuts and things got better quick.

Went to his site one last time - to leave a polite, but explanatory “tip” in his news tip box. Told him we were not going to be herded anymore, by ANYONE.

May God guide our course.

Do some research. Listen with your own ears to Nancy Reagen in 1995.

The new conservative Tea Party movement is the hot new girlfriend that may just break up this ongoing charade.

Great analogy.

That reminds me, I just watched a piece on FOX, the gloria allred has a couple of new clients.

Two bimbos were sleeping with a married guy and are claiming that he cheated on them by sleeping with his wife????

He is suing them for defaming his character for posting on line the fact that they were all cheating on his wife, hey, I don't know, I'm confused.

He has had it in for all of them except Romney and Paul. I left him a “tip” that politely explained that we don’t like being herded and are taking our clicks elsewhere.

Heavenly Father, please give us strength.

The freeing of the Iranian hostages, after 444 days, immediately after Reagan took the oath of office was a big plus.

It seems to me that Mitt Romney is more comparable to John McCain than Newt Gingrich is.

I'm sure both sides could come up with lists to paint the other as being more McCain-ish, but, in my opinion, Romney is this year's McCain.

That would be my question to Ann and Matt and others. Who do you think is more like McCain and could McCain win this year?

In 1981 when Reagan was shot I prayed he would live and not leave us with the abominable RINO Establishment GHWBush.

In 1988, I heard GHWBush say, "Read my lips" and thought, "Well, he learned something from Reagan."

But the RINO reverted to true form and abandoned conservatives with new taxes. Like a birthright being forfeited for a bowl of soup, he squandered the election for a "promise" from Democrats.

Considering the alternative was a total liberal Asshat (redundancy police notified) I held my nose and voted for him AND warned my friends they were electing Clinton if they threw their vote away on Pee-ROT!

So, in 1992 I held my nose and voted for GHWB...Clinton won and trashed the Constitution. BUT was countered by a man named Newt Gingrich.

In 1996 I held my nose and voted for Dole...Clinton won and continued trashing the Constitution. And continued to be countered by Newt Gingrich until the RINO Establishment stabbed Newt in the back.

In 2000 I held my nose and voted for GWB...and he barely beat a total jackass named Gore and then cozied up to Ted Kennedy with social programs.

In 2004 I held my nose and voted for GWB again...and he narrowly beat another total jackass named Kerry and wimped out on nearly every issue except National Security and in so doing foisted Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid into prominence.

And in 2008 I held my nose and voted for McCain...and Idi Obama won and trashed the Constitution.

Newsflash....I am NOT holding my nose anymore!

I am staying home and sending a message of Never Another RINO.

Well, what about the Congressional elections you might say.

Listen up!

Republicans control the House and haven't done SQUAT to stop the Idi Obama regime from running roughshod over the Constitution, and the Republican Senators act as if there is a Democrat super-majority in that chamber, so what good did it do to elect them to the majority in the House and increase their numbers in the Senate?

Anybody who wants my vote now...has to damn well earn it!

And after watching Mitt Romney "govern" Massachusetts and cozy up to the most liberal of Dems, he has a snowball's chance in Hell of convincing me to get off my ass and vote for him.
