Romney certainly wins the absentees in FL, but even so, if it’s a 40% Romney, 25% Newt, 35% other, that makes Romney’s initial lead not as formidable as it seems on first blush. Newt now has momentum from SC, and he will additionally get millions to join the FL air war.
On another note, when RuPaul sticks to monetary & domestic policy, you almost forget that he’s crazy.

If the DNC Media really thought Newt couldn't win, how would they react to his win tonight? Happy or upset?
Just this has had me a bit uneasy for the past hour....it's highly possible that the Regime and their Media Minions are salivating.
Even if Newt's baggage is all "explain-awayable", they've got plenty of ammunition for the lightly enformed unwashed masses.
It's my preliminary thought that they indeed prefer running against Gingrich than the Mittster - except for that 'debate thing', where they know 0bama would get his ass wiped with his own tongue.

Gingrich has caught fire now, and the debates are working.
He’s getting focused. He has this last war in him, I’d say!

Pinging the three sharpest analysts I know on FR: why again do yall think FL moved their primary up, at the expense of half their delegates?
Did FL move the primary up after having been told, "Hey, if you do this, we're cutting half of your delegates" and the FL folks said, "We don't care. It's price we're willing to pay to be right behind South Carolina, and New Hampshire, and Iowa."

Current count - 28% counted
Newt 41%
Mitt 26%
Rick 18%
RonP 13%
I believe the most important part of this today is that RonP did not score better.

Jeb is endorsing Romney.
FWIW, I am hearing that Newt may get one or two big bombshell endorsements for Florida: Rudy Giuliani (perhaps, and that endorsement MATTERS in Florida), and one other big name who is already one degree of separation away from the campaign in Florida - you can probably guess, but I’m not sayin’! ;-)
Be ready, however. Team Romney (a.k.a. Team GOP Establishment) is begging and bribing anyone and everyone who ever worked with Newt to join Jim Talent and Molly Moderate in a massive series of personal attacks. Feelers are out in DROVES tonight. They want large numbers, and have unlimited funds and influence to get those numbers. Expect more Jim Talents VERY soon.

Romney keeps repeating, 'let me be clear.' Sounds like a strangely familiar crutch phrase. McCain - "My friends" "My friends"

caww, heard that Newt carried the evangelical vote in SC! that is great. We have TWO debates next week in Fla. One is on Monday night. I am worried about the Bush machine in Fla.

Is Romney reading off a teleprompter? I can't tell, but he sure is as canned and dry as if he were, isn't he?
Brit Hume commented that Romney just doesn't connect with voters in a one-on-one personal setting. I hollered, "Duh!" at the TV because Mitt is not part of fly-over country. He doesn't understand our perspective and never will.

I’m hearing the governor of FL might go to Newt. I hope he’s popular, if the rumor is true!

That’s the Q: have things gone the way the people who moved it up thought they would or just exactly the opposite? Do the mover-upper regret or are vindicated by that decision?
