Firebrand Free Republic Founder Endorses Newt Gingrich With Epic Call to Action
Fox News ^ | January 19, 2012 | Fox News

I'm officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for president today. Was going to wait until after Florida, but see no reason to delay. We need Newt to win in South Carolina and Florida to stop any possible momentum building up for the establishment big government, statist, abortionist RINO!!

I wish someday somebody would call me a “firebrand”.

“Who does Beck support?”

Glenn Beck is completely on the side of Santorum [sic?] now. In fact, he had a conniption fit today and almost alienated all Gingrich supporters [although he apologised].

I’m glad I heard that meltdown. Now I understand Beck better. Poor fella’. He thinks he needs to be more persuasive. He’s actually more persuasive when he spends less time nagging — the persuasion factor is saturated.

What Beck really needs to understand is that the faster his audience grows ... from the Big “E”, [entertainment], the more he will affect public opinion. More humor, more sarcasm, more zaniness and foxhole/gallows humor and less nagging, less whining. It’s painful.

As for my support [who cares but next post ...]

Yes, is there another kind of Progressive?

Yes, but it's obvious that explaining it to you would be as useful as trying to explain algebra to a preschooler.

As some of you may know, my screen name was derived from the fact that I “left that other site” because I refused to endorse Romney back in 2008.

I am so glad I left that other site and joined FR!

Firebrand Free Republic Founder Endorses Newt Gingrich

Sorry, no can do. I'll be supporting a conservative candidate instead. I remember once when FreeRepublic was a conservative website. No more.

I remember the outrage here back in 2006 when McCain and Kennedy were pushing amnesty. Yet in 2012, I am being asked to vote for the pro-amnesty Newt Gingrich.

I remember the outrage here back in 2009-2010 when the Democrats were pushing their government healthcare plan. Yet in 2012, I am being asked to vote for the candidate who actually wants to take 300 pages of the Democrat plan and incorporate it into his own government healthcare plan. Vote for Newt Gingrich? Not just 'no', but 'HELL NO!'

FreeRepublic may have decided to go moderate. But I have not.

Beck supports Santorum. Had him on today.

Beck's been on an anti-Newt rant for a long time now. He even said, "if Newt should win, God forbid" today.

I think one could safely say that Beck hates Newt. FWIW.

“He (Ronpaul) actually believes in limited government. Can anyone say the same thing about Newt or Romney? I”

Again, I am supporting Santorum until I cannot otherwise, but Newt not only actually believes in limited government he made that happen as SotH. He reined in the federal government and balanced the budget. Isn’t that what the Tea Party stands for??

I read somewhere that Gingrich was pushing them more to the right and they were resisting. Guess that was true!

Being in VA I considered protest-voting for Ron Paul as the anti-Romney, but after hearing Beck, I can’t even do that. My household is sitting this primary out — neither Romney nor Ron Paul.

I’d be happy to vote for either Santorum or Newt — the anti-Romney. But here in VA, too many of Newt’s petitions were tossed [apparently 1,000 were nitpicked out even though they could have been approved].

I don’t think Santorum even tried that hard to get the 10,000 as I understand it — which would have only required a few radio interviews to get a good drive going IMHO.

I definitely got your point about Gingrich being the first republican speaker in decades. When I read it, it reminded me of Santorum’s attack in last night’s debate, so I replied to your post. I agree that it is important to remember the circumstances at the time.

All your Firebrand are belong to us!

JimRob, I got to say hi to you at the March For Justice. That was a while back as I recall.

Some of the postings of video of Newt's speeches and remarks are illustrative. Newt's words are like a railgun at maximum power - the target is utterly and completely destroyed

So as far as you endorsing him is concerned... ?

Amen, brother... ;-)

Yes, I vaguely remembering all of that. But I mostly remember how after the charges were all proved bogus, the MSM whispered that news or buried it on the back pages...

They Ted Stevens’d him really well.
