The Obama administration is expected to reject the controversial Keystone Pipeline this afternoon, according to Fox News.
The State Department is expected to vote against the pipeline this afternoon. Transcanada will however be allowed to reapply with an alternate route going through Nebraska.
The administration will be unlikely to approve the pipeline under the timeline for the payroll tax cut extension law which requires a decision by February 21
The project has been extremely controversial for two main reasons. Those in favor of the pipeline point to the 8.5% unemployment rate, and point out that the pipeline could create much-needed high-paying jobs. Moreover, it would provide cash-strapped governments with tax revenues. On the other hand after the BP Deepwater spill of 2010 and ExxonMobil's July 2011 pipeline spill, environmentalists are pressuring the Obama administration to nip the project in the bud.
More to come...

I replied to this post a bit ago, but my internets went down.
I have a question.
Why does Obama have the right to make a monumental decision like this, with just a small sentence?
Shouldn't Congress have a say in this?
You know, the peoples Representatives???
Why should the Soros/Leftist/Ayers/Marx representative have all this power?

We have the highest gas prices on record for a January with many experts predicting $5 a gallon gas by May, A vote for any Democrat is a vote for significantly higher prices at the pump. Higher prices push up the cost of almost everything. When gas gets anywhere near $4.00 you can literally see businesses slowing down in North Carolina.

This is the clearest example of Bari putting his politics ahead of what's good for America & Americans. Denying America energy independence.
Rush is on it now.
In the second hour of Rush's show today he is all over it again.
Rush said the money is not coming in from the eviro wacko base is the reason.
0bama needs that part of his base to kick in more money for his reelection.

Apparently, The One couldn't wait until February after he saw his latest polling score. The Greeniacs clearly have him by the shorts. Will be interesting to see union reaction.

President Obamas jobs council endorsed a wide range of pro-growth proposals Tuesday that includes building oil pipelines and expanding drilling in the U.S., steps that House Republicans promptly noted are being blocked by Senate Democrats. The Road Map to Renewal submitted to Mr. Obama by his team of industry leaders embraces more domestic production of fossil fuels. The report doesnt specifically mention the Canada-to-Texas Keystone XL oil pipeline on which the Obama administration has delayed a decision, but it does advocate building more domestic pipelines. Policies that facilitate the safe, thoughtful and timely development of pipeline, transmission and distribution projects...
That last one is cute. Obama wants more pipelines, just don't point that out to him.

Why should the Soros/Leftist/Ayers/Marx representative have all this power?
Very simple - Zero has seized the power. The GOP runs the House and yet ABSOLUTELY REFUSES TO USE THEIR ABILITY TO DEFUND OBAMA'S PRIZE WINS - e.g. OBAMACARE, EPA, ABORTION. .
When the CR came up, when the debt ceiling came up, the GOP HELD A ROYAL FLUSH, and were scared to death of the Lame Stream State Run Media, and made a deal with the DEVIL.
Boehner MUST GO.

Obama channeling Churchill.....
Churchill to his war cabinet on strategic issues to defeat the Nazis:
1. Destroy capacity to refine and distribute petroleum products.
2. Target coal production
3. Destroy manufacturing capacity starting with ball bearing factories
Accomplish all 3 at once by breaking the two main Rhur Valley dams..

The message on the shutdown of the pipeline is coming from 0bama. The text says it is the STATE DEPARTMENT that is rejecting the pipeline. Shouldn’t Hillary as Secretary of State be making this announcement and if not, what does the State Dept. have to do with it?
There is no reason not to do this pipeline other than to screw the energy resources of the US and cause gas prices to rise. Thanks 0bama for another nail in your one term legacy on the same day as #SOPA is getting so much attention. Making it easy for our candidates to take over the WH and Senate.

Obama is pandering to his far left environmentalist whack jobs..he needs their vote this November, that is why he is doing this..Gas prices are going to be what, 5 bucks a gallon this spring, of course Obama is in favor of that, maybe he can go to the Middle East and bow to some more dictators to get some gas
To: Syncro
Good points, Syncro. I don’t know... I would think Congress would have a say in this. (?)

Understand something, folks...
America’s huge advantage over the rest of the world has ALWAYS been cheap energy, and a reserve currency.
Obama is doing his utmost to destroy BOTH.
He hates the advantage America has had, and wants to “Equalize” us to the rest of the world. And making some pocket change along the way to wrecking the EVIL AMERICA< isn’t bad, either.
