Rick Santorum: Presidents Dukakis, Gore, Kerry and McCain
Santorum for President email | 1/15/12 | Santorum4President

Posted on 01/15/2012 9:15:17 PM PST by Antoninus

Fellow Conservative,

Americans have been down this road before.

At various times both parties nominated boring candidates because they were considered "electable". In every one of those cases, they weren't electable at all. Now Republicans are again thinking about nominating another bland and boring candidate for President – Mitt Romney.

If we don't love our candidate, how can we expect Democrats and Independents to?

We must stop him in South Carolina with a BOLD conservative who can contrast himself starkly with President Obama and inspire Americans to vote for him.

In the South Carolina polls, I am running just behind Romney and am poised to defeat him. I need your support to close the deal.

Since 1980, every Republican nominee has won South Carolina.

Bursting onto the scene in Iowa, conservatives reacted to my emergence as the conservative challenger to Mitt Romney by pouring in over $3 million to my campaign. Now, South Carolina polls have me within striking distance of Mitt Romney- who has committed millions in ads to the state already.

I urgently need your support so we can match Mitt Romney’s spending dollar for dollar in South Carolina. Your donation of $30, $50 or $75 is the difference between a South Carolina victory and 4 more years of President Obama. The days are numbered to make an impact.

Support Rick to help close the deal.

My record as a national conservative leader:

Co-wrote the Contract with America
Led the fight to reform welfare
Sponsored the bill banning partial birth abortion
Authored legislation imposing strong sanctions against Iran

As President, I will repeal Obamacare, re-write the tax code, and end Barack Obama’s unprecedented interference in our economy. And I will pursue a bold economic plan that the Wall Street Journal calls “bolder than Mr. Romney’s.”

Are you ready to join me?

Republicans can’t afford a nominee who is unable to withstand the blistering attacks of Barack Obama’s billion dollar campaign – or even worse resemble Obama so much that he can't barely be distinguished from him.

With a clear record of results, I give the GOP the best chance to defeat Obama and put a conservative in the White House.

Be a part of this historic campaign by donating just $35. I will make your voice heard in Washington!

Sincerely,

Rick Santorum

P.S. If you've been holding out and waiting to make up your mind than now is the time. We must stop Romney in South Carolina. We must unite and guarantee a conservative standard bearer in 2012. We are poised for victory in South Carolina. Help us today to continue to build momentum with the most generous donation you can afford. If you cannot afford to give or have done so already, will you consider sharing this email with your family and friends?

The RINO Stream Medis or Romney Stream Media perhaps.

The Romney News Channel or Nixon News Channel.

Roger Ailes worked for Nixon who waged a war with the liberal media that had gone over to radical views on Vietnam and other issues.

The Nixon Administration message was that the MSM was not “fair and balanced.”

A gem of an idea for a future generation.

Rick Santorum has zero chance to win the GOP nomination. He needs to get out and let Newt fight it out with Romney. After he loses big in SC hopefully he will not have the money to continue to FL. Perry will also be getting out after SC so hopefully Perry’s votes will go to Newt in FL.

As far as I’m concerned, Newt is the stalking horse just like Fraud Thompson was in 2008. The same “arguments” that were used for Freddie last time are being used by the Newtards this time (”electable”, “good speaker”, “has the cash”), none of which are valid reasons to base a vote on.

Friend you are wrong about me, and likely about the world. There is a very good chance that if we just came home and quit meddling, that everybody would leave us in peace. Nobody wants to attack the big sleeping giant, especially if its minding its own business. Paul isn’t going to disband the military, far from it.

If we come home and they attack us, we can crush them again.
But if we don’t come home, we will be engaged in a state of perpetual war like we are now, 22 years and counting. And its costing us trillions we can’t afford. The US is a lot more likely to die in a fiscal crisis than because some guys in Iran hate us. Fiscal disasters are how most empires end.

There’s a reason why Paul gets the overwhelming support of the armed services, with more contributions from them than all other candidates combined, including Obama. They understand that what we are doing over there is worse than useless. And they also took an oath to protect the constitution, and they recognize that Paul is the only one who is going to take that oath seriously.

Also:
you could not cherry pick Paul and make him look like a spender. If you think you can, be my guest. Show me.

These guys who have been drunken spenders, will be drunken spenders again. What, do you think they’ve taken the 12 step program? You are in denial if you think Santorum is going to cut the increase Obama put into the budget out. Santorum will maybe, cut the growth in the budget over its current projections. I absolutely guarantee you you will never under Santorum see a US budget lower in $ terms one year than the last. Wanna bet?

I’ve watched him on the townhall meeting that are televised on C-Span. He talks to standing-room-only crowds. I saw him speak to a group in Iowa. He stayed for two hours answering questions. People were not leaving. At the end of the two hours, they were still there with their hands up with more questions. They were thoroughly engaged in the process as was he. “I love doing this,” he said, and people applauded. He spent ten minutes on one question about Social Security. He laid out the problems with the program and then in detail explained his solutions. The guy is very impressive. He’s genuine, funny, committed, and he connects with people. Romney, on the other hand, is a phoney who repeats the same canned speech at every stop. He punctuates his comments with a nervous, artificial laugh. He’s condescending. It’s an act with absolutely the same gestures, facial expressions, and stale joke at every stop. He not only not electable, he’s not even likeable. We nominate him and Obama gets a second term.

I’m from western Pennsylvania and I know why Santorum lost. It wasn’t his fault. Pennsylvanian voters, who are mostly Democrat voters, were fed up with Bush and his conduct of the Iraq war. In 2006, Bush declared that he would stay the course and that Rumsfield would continue as Secretary of Defense. Santorum was high in the Senate leadership. He was seen in Pennsylvania as Bush’s lackey. Democrat voters in Pennsylvania wanted to send Bush a message so they smacked Santorum. Santorum commented after he lost the election and Bush replaced Rumsfield, “why didn’t he do that before the election”?

Santorum now polls ahead of Obama in Pennsylvania. He would carry Pennsylvania in the general election. Obama is despised here, particularly after his comments about bitter people clinging to their guns and religion. He had just campaigned in western Pennsylvania where Democrat voters preferred Hillary. Obama then went to San Francisco where he met with big donors and trashed the racist rednecks he’d encountered in western Pa. I would love to see Santorum take Obama on in a debate and throw that comment back in his face. Would absolutely love it. Obama was insulting Santorum’s family and his grandfather who worked until he was in his 70s in the coal mines of western Pennsylvania. He was insulting all of us. I want that avenged in a debate. Santorum could do it.

Obama said that guns and religion thing before the last election, and then still carried Pennsylvania. Now its old news.

Right now the left is despondant and not going to turn out big. If Santorum is on the ticket, he will energize them and lose by 10-20 points.

If by some chance Santorum wins, he may succeed in holding the increases in spending to the point where the country stagnates but doesn’t crash, but there is no way he is going to bring the change we need. Santorum as President
would mean another 4 years of needless enervating war in the middle east and, optimistically, another 4 years of 1-2% growth and 6-8% unemployment and growth in the US budget, just, at best, slower growth than what we are currently projecting.

Ron Paul loads his district with more pork than any other congressman, and then, for appearance sake, votes against it. It’s kinda slimy, actually. Look, the fact that he has yet to rule out a 3rd party bid earns him my contempt. He would be working to re-elect the Marxist. BTW, I can’t stand Romney either, but he’s not a Commie.

I do not believe in “nation building”, but this is what depresses me: You and others actually believe that the world will allow us to settle in our little cocoon if we only come home. That’s scary thinking, and ignores the reality of the 20th century’s people control movements and their ensuing mass exterminations, and also the relentless evil of radical Islam. You people don’t even accept that Israel, despite its faults, is our intelligence gathering bulwark in the region. **Sigh** Bob

Hannity, and maybe Cavuto, are the only conservative hosts on Fox. Chris Wallace a conservative? Are you daft, Man? Or simply a troll? I assume that you think that when someone dumps a glass of Kool-Aid out of the large vat, that makes him or her “right wing”. What silly talk. Or did I misunderstand your point entirely? Bob
