Ron Paul loads his district with more pork than any other congressman, and then, for appearance sake, votes against it. It’s kinda slimy, actually. Look, the fact that he has yet to rule out a 3rd party bid earns him my contempt. He would be working to re-elect the Marxist. BTW, I can’t stand Romney either, but he’s not a Commie.

You are just exaggerating with zero evidence, like most of the things you say. He puts some earmarks into bills, a smaller amount than most congressmen if only because they won't give him as many as most, because he's not a team player and they aren't getting anything for it. And he has a very valid justification: as far as the constitution is concerned, it would be better if every penny was earmarked, spent by congress. What get's us into trouble are all the delegated spending decisions and entitlements. They are all unconstitutional. And he doesn't vote against the bills "for appearance". He votes against the bills because they are unconstitutional. He looks in Article 1 section 8, and if they exceed the powers of congress he votes against them. That pretty much includes every spending act the congress passes nowadays, so you won't find him going along like Santorum with all the big spending. And if he is elected President, you can count on him to veto any spending bill that violates the constitution, unlike Santorum who you can count on to sign the pork the congress sends him.
