Obama, according to the White House transcript, talked about “The first bill I signed — a bill that said that we’re going to have equal pay for equal work because I want my daughters treated the same way as my sons.”

A company I worked for in the 1980’s had an interesting view of Equal Pay for “Equal” work. Since all of the Male Test Technicians had at least five years of experience, we were getting paid more than the women who were just entering the field. They argued that since we all worked on the same systems that they were being discriminated against. So the company developed the “Quartile System”. This maxed out higher level Tech III’s. So essentially, they leveled the compensation by not giving merit raises to the men when they reached a certain pay. As Obama says, there’s a point where you’ve made enough money. The truth behind the Democrat “equal Work” is that there no need to consider equal OUTPUT.
