Geeh, New validates my opinion for which I was decorated yesterday.

Thanks Newt for seeing the light on this.

Let your inferiors continue this meme.

The main quote from Newt:

"Gingrich said.

“It’s an impossible theme to talk about with Obama in the background. Obama just makes it impossible to talk rationally in that area because he is so deeply into class warfare that automatically you get an echo effect. … I agree with you entirely.” "

This is what I like about Newt. His ability to admit a wrong tactic and change course. I think we will see something new in South Carolina as he refines his campaign. GO NEWT!

Actually, that’s not what Gingrich said. He basically said that his attack had been misunderstood and twisted into anti-capitalism because of Obama’s class warfare rhetoric going on in the background. But he said that Romney has to explain himself, and that was all he was calling for all along.

Romney has been portraying himself as a businessman and implying that he ran a productive business, but he was not honest about the type of business and the type of investments (it was not “venture capital” except in the most general of senses) and the fact that he got a government bailout for at least one investment that went bad.

Bain bought one firm for $30 million and immediately forced the firm to give Bain a “payout” of $180 million, which was all the cash it had. Essentially, Bain bought it just to strip it of cash. I fail to see that this is investing in growth or, at any rate, the growth of anything except Romney’s bank account.

I wonder what Newt actually said, or whether this headline is entirely misleading.

The angle of attack Newt has been making is a legit one, and not occu-tard Leftist rhetoric.

Either way, there is something to be said for the nuances being too complicated for the electorate to appropriately understand. I see a lot of self-anointed demagogues who think that reading Ayn Rand makes them a voice of reason when it comes to capitalism, lol.

I have 3 posts from yesterday and today stating that I was disappointed with Newt’s attack but sticking with him. Feeling a bit of vindication here. Go NEWT!

There are some LEGAL businesses that are usually a turnoff politically.

Used cars salesman
Abortionist
Repo-man
Debt collectors

The fact that Romney gutted some companies leaving the employees without any hope (or pensions) is disgusting...

...and is worth discussing.

This just further brings into question Gingrich’s judgement.

How impaired is it and will we see many more of these excuses/apologies?

In the first actual contest of the election season Gingrich lost sight of the real issue — beating Obama. Instead, he devolved into revenge for perceived wrongs. Sadly, that shows up one of Gingrich’s major weaknesses — a thin skin. We can be assured that, if Gingrich did get the nomination, the MSM/Dems would attack even worse than Gingrich got in Iowa. They would have him bawling.

The Democrats and Obama have known about Bain for a long time and planned to use it against Romney closer to the general election.

I am watching the video now. Romney needs to address this NOW. If he survives then Newt has been effective in destroying Obama’s trump card. If Romney doesn't survive it, too bad.

If tax dollars are used to bailout a pension, yet the investors walk away with BIG dollars, it is NOT capitalism. It is the ongoing corrupt relationship between government and companies that is destroying our country. Said another way, it is CRONY CAPITALISM.

THANK YOU NEWT!

I am glad he realized this...or at least figured out the tea leaves. Bashing capitalism does NO ONE ANY GOOD.

No, no fair. He was CROWING about this movie before it was out. His apology is not genuine. Don’t fall for the newt.

Good, this should have been said. I can overlook this because I think he got a little exhausted/ crazy about being attacked which he feels was wrong to do. He is no markist so no worry there. He may have an ego which can be changed.

This is the sort of thing that will cause many to vote for someone other than Newt. He’s very bright and imaginative, a brainstormer, but the most creative brainstormers usually come up with some very bad ideas as well as good ones.

Another of Newt’s brainstorms landed him on that couch with Nancy Pelosi. How long before he’d have other, equally out there brainstorms if in the White House? There definitely need to be some checks and balances on Newt and his ideas.

Newt must of read this morning’s editorial in the WSJ. Intimidation by the MSM! MF Global is good, too.

Newt has done more irreparable harm to the hard-enough-job of convincing the stupids who vote that capitalism is bad, than any dem could. That alone should be enough to rule out any hope of a presidential run for him. A man with his vindictiveness and bitterness, and who cannot control his anger in the public forum has no business running the country. Thanks Newt.

This is exactly why the powers that be may not, in fact, be wanting a conservative to win. Candidates like this never will.

This just sounds like a campaign strategy...Now, Newt can distance himself from the attacks that are being leveled against Bain and move on to other points. The attacks will still have an effect with Romney having to answer questions about Bain instead of what he wants the talking points to be.

Who knows if it will work?
