Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals decision to overturn a district judge's injunction against Texas' sonogram law:
"Today's ruling is a victory for all who stand in defense of life. Every life lost to abortion is a tragedy, and this important sonogram legislation ensures that every Texas woman seeking an abortion has all the facts about the life she is carrying, and understands the devastating impact of such a life-ending decision. We will continue to fight any attempt to limit our state's laws that value and protect the unborn."

Perry: not the saviest candidate. Not a great debater.
Just really good at getting things done!
PS reminds me of a certain QB who the media kept telling us couldn’t throw, run, or lead - but who just keeps winning anyway!

This is a liberty taking bad law. It forces a person to have a medical procedure done. Where would you want to stop this? What is the next medical procedure a state forces you to have?

Oh please, don't you have some other NARAL "Champions of Choice" talking points to toss out at us?
It doesn't "force" a woman to do a damn thing, it DOES make the abortion procedure (which is entirely elective and voluntary) subject to including a sonogram so the woman can see exactly what is going on in the womb, and gets a clear picture of the life she's about to snuff out. Tell me how that could POSSIBLY be a "bad law"?
However many unborn children who were aborted from the point of the Texas injunction up to today when that injunction was overturned by the Fifth circuit, their blood is on the hands of that Texas judge.

Texas is not forcing anyone to have the “medical procedure” ABORTION, only to a medical procedure to enable some ABORTION PREVENTIONs. Why would anyone opposed to abortion object?

It is a diagnostic test, not a medical treatment. Would you also cavil about a blood-typing test before blood transfusions are given?

Hey troll, waste bandwidth much?
You already spewed those pro-abortion talking points in your post #8.
Either come up with something that didn’t come from NARAL or Planned Parenthood, or get lost.

Complete BS. IF the woman doesn’t won’t to see it, she isn’t forced to look. This law is just another way to try and stop more abortions since the USSC blatantly allowed women to legally commit murder.

It requires a person to have a medical procedure, therfore, it does force that person to have that procedure. Forcing a person to have a medical procedure goes beyond the abortion question. This law doesn’t affect you so it’s okay with you for the state to require someone else to have a medical procedure. When the state requires YOU to have “x” medical procedure, your opinion will change.
Personal liberty can be taken away by Democrats or Republicans. I do not want the state of Texas or the US government to force me to have “x” medical procedure done, neither do I want them to refuse to give me “x” medical procedure if my doctor says it is necessary.
I am pro life and always have been - that is not the issue. This law begins a slippery slope to take away your liberty relating to your medical decisions.

The Hell it ain't.

Bullsh*t. The law in question mandates that COMPLETE diagnostic information be provided to the patient prior to the ACTUAL medical procedure. A sonogram is non-invasive, and in the context of this law it very likely may save lives, i.e., the lives of the unborn that you claim to be in support of. Give your head a shake about this. The Fifth Circuit smackdown of that injunction was a very good thing, and you should be applauding it if your concern about the unborn is anything more than lip service.
