So you think Ron Paul is crazy? (2002 video shows him making stunningly accurate predictions)
American Thinker ^ | 01/09/2012 | Jason McNew

Intellectually speaking, we live in fascinating, if dangerous, times. Given a larger view of history, it should be understood that nations, political systems, and currencies come and go on a fairly regular basis. Human freedom is an exception -- not the norm.

There are four core components necessary for the existence of an independent, sovereign nation: A system of laws (constitutional or otherwise,) geographical borders, a sound monetary system, and a defensive function.

Presently, the United States is failing (or trending toward failure) on the first three counts. Failure on two or more will lead to a failure of the fourth (national defense.) Capitalism notwithstanding, could it be that this is what Russia, China, and the emerging Islamic Caliphate want? Or what George Soros wants?

It is for this reason that I support Ron Paul for POTUS. Yes, detractors of Paul's foreign policy may have legitimate gripes -- in particular his seeming failure to understand that radical Islamists cannot be disincentivized in the same way that Soviet Communists could.

Here is a short, 2002 video of Ron Paul making a multitude of predictions in the areas of economics and geopolitics. Watch the entire thing before judging -- Paul's accuracy craves explanation.

http://youtu.be/zGDisyWkIBM ;

Could it be that Ron Paul is right about economics, the Constitution, and geopolitics, and that his detractors are the ones that have it wrong?

So you think Ron Paul is crazy?

Yes, I do.

So does most of the voting public, which is why Ron Paul supporters are crazy to think he'll win in a general election.

This is tortured logic. I’m assuming from your perspective that you never served at all. From all of the facts that I have heard, Ron Paul served honorably and for a reasonable period of time.

Making up crap about how that is an attempt to evade danger is just silly.

He did not decide to become a career officer because he wanted to be a doctor. Nothing wrong with that...

Why doesn’t everyone grow up and focus on facts instead of this hysterical and shrill name-calling that is more typical of the far left.

(Yes, I did serve as a Naval Aviator for 10 years before you ask...)

...one candidate that has a proven record of always siding on the side of the Constitution

Sorry, but that is bull feces. He may claim over and over and have his sheep baaaaaa the mantra he does, but he plays as fast and loose with the Constitution as the rest of them. Just like the rest of them, he picks and chooses what he wants and ignores what he doesn't like. He starts with his Paulibertarian viewpoint first and twists the Constitution to make it fit.

Thanks for the link to the gold history thread, I’ll read it more later but it doesn’t address the reasons why other standards (like none) promote booms and busts. Right now thanks to failed Fed policy since the late 80’s we are stuck between inflation and recession.

Reagan preached that “government should protect liberty,” says Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, a Reagan delegate to the 1976 Republican National Convention in Kansas City. “Not very complex.”

It was avid Reagan followers such as Paul who reshaped the Texas Republican Party. In 1976 Paul, then a freshman congressman, was one of only four Republican House members nationally to back Reagan’s insurgent candidacy.

It doesn’t HAVE to be gold, or silver, or any precious metal. It could be crude oil, diamonds, or uranium, or even wheat, or refined 87 octane gasoline, etc. The objective is to tie the value of money to SOMETHING...to shackle the Fed.gov in restraits so that it cannot play games with the money supply and create arbitrary inflation.

And in 1988, Paul called Reagan a ‘dramatic failure’ and said he wanted to disassociate himself with the “Reagan Revolution”. Based on Paul’s own request, he doesn’t want to be associated with Reagan.

The Globalist Occupied Party trashes the Constitution.

They do not oppose the democrats in any way shape or form.

They in fact, run democrats like Perry and Romney who have changed parties, but not ideologies.

The Globalist Occupied Party has given us communist indoctrination education with Goals 2000, the war against freedom for American citizens with the TSA and 'Homeland Security', cultural destruction with their North American integration and flood of illegals from Mexico and beyond, and they handed socialized medicine to Obama on a silver platter. That list doesn't include the cataclysmic financial misdeeds with taxpayer money and the global banks.

The Globalist Occupied Party is the problem, not the solution at this point.

Facts??? Facts??? Ron Paul came out on public TV during a nationwide debate and said he was drafted then proceeded to lecture Newt on military service. Ron Paul is a flat out liar. Period!

..and Palio Fraudie is part of that. Mr. Opposes the Border Fence to ‘keep Americans in’ to playing nice with Iran even going to their State media. He is a tool.

Well, since countries like Switzerland and especially France were able to redeem thier dollars for Gold - it seems to me we still had a Gold Standard in reality, not just as a legal vestige.

“The issues are never discussed—”

I'll discuss issues. How about the issue of Ron Paul's destruction of US national security? How about his decades of vile newsletters? How about Ron Paul's sympathizing with the occupy parasites and traitors to the US? How about his ignoring the spread of nukes amongst terrorists? How about his partnering with Barney Frank and George Soros? How about his desire to destroy tens of millions of additional individuals, families, neighborhoods and US productivity with dope? How about the issue of why he is supported by conspiracy nut shows and white supremacists? How about why he is a 9/11 conspiracy nutcase? Those might be a good start at discussing issues.

And no, we will save the New World Order/”Globalist” discussion issue for the fringe conspiracy shows.

My of my. Didn’t you stir up the demonic mob! At this point there have been 68 comments on the article you posted, and all of them negative and most of them ad hominem.

Why is the mob so threatened by Ron Paul? Why such detailed research into his past? Why the consistent, repeated, assertions that he is “crazy” and “a liar”? The viciousness of the attacks makes me think that there is something else going on here—perhaps a threat to the establishment’s status quo? or to the vested interests?

This country never had a fence on the border, when we had loyal Americans occupying political office. We never had a fence when we had a war with Mexico, we never had one during the Great Depression, or during WWII. We never had one during the cold war. Why is that?

Now we have globalist scum running the country and the ‘fence’ debate is just their pretend way to placate citizens concerned about the cultural and economic destruction of this country.

We all know what needs to be done, but the globalists are in power and they won’t allow us. They occupy BOTH parties.

I am sick of Alinsky tactics in every discussion. I want to know the issues, and the means to resolve them.

Nowadays you can’t elect people based on their platform, because the platform is never discussed!

A quote from 1976 including Reagan? Starnge, Paul and his followers keep the smoke and mirrors defense of the decades of vile newsletters with a “that was twenty years ago” mantra and you want to discuss a quote from 45 years ago?

I don’t know if Paul was a kook that far back. I know he was by the time he started producing those newsletters. I know he is nuts, dangerous and tramples the US Constitution now.

I know he is a menace to the security and well being of the United States.
