“Just sent another $300 ! to NEWT.”

Thanks so much Reagan69 - let's hear from others - go to newt.org and donate.

I just heard their talking heads after the debate and they all agreed Romney was terrific - that no one challenged him - what planet are they on?

I would LOVE a nice, boring, scandal-free president who just wanted to get some work done.

Amen.

I’m not watching the debate, but am relying on the postings of fellow FReepers to get a sense of what is being said.

Did Huntsman say, “It’s the craw! Not the craw!”? (Get Smart reference) :)

“I heard Rush say that he liked Perry, but I’ve never heard him claim that he’s the “most conservative” candidate in the race. “

If Rush would do 5 minutes of research in Texas, he’ll get that Perry=conservative delusion right out of his head.

A little humorous OT:

Dear Abby: How do Mary Matalin and James Carville stay married without homicide?

So either Romney would have to abandon his faith to serve as commander in chief.

"Newt set up a few attacks on him, but the MSM wouldn’t let it gain any traction and would switch to other candidates after. They’re protecting Romney a bit."

Exactly, and notice how Huntsman always says something about Romney to get the spotlight back on Romney so he can follow up and have that extra minute to blab. He does it every time and it's obvious. Huntsman is Romney's ace watchdog, and I think its the reason he is still hanging around.

Agree — when the primary rolls around, I will swallow my pride and vote for whoever other than the ones you mentioned has the most momentum.

1. (tie) Gingrich: Smartest guy in the room, nimble mind, did very well
1. (tie) Romney: Keeps focus on going after Obama; says (at least) he's against Roe v. Wade, same-sex marriage
3. Santorum: Did alright, but not better than Gingrich or Romney
4. Perry: Did just OK, which seems about the best he can do
55. Charlie Chan: No tickee, no nomination
666. Looney Tunes: GET HIM OFF THE STAGE! PLEASE!!

ABC in New York just opened up their news broadcast saying the Republicans agreed on nothing. Do they watch their own channel?

Dear GOP, how bout we have debates w/ moderators that actually like us. Hell, I’d even take moderators that like America!

I like perry but he doesn’t seem quick on his feet at all. I doubt he could beat Obama.

I don't know how well you remember 2008 debates but I didn't think Obama was any Newt. He mostly offered up talking points and pre-rehearsed speeches (like Romney). Perry would be real, honest, and passionate and I think he could more than handle Obama.

Of course we have the media to fight no matter who we pick. Last time Obama won every time before he even opened his mouth according to all the pundits.

You’re another Perry fearer/basher.

I’ve spent a lifetime in Texas and I KNOW Perry is conservative.

And Rush knows it also.

More like by taking the oath of office, he is either a liar or an oath breaker.

He will never give up Mormonism, he is headed (like his uncle George) to be one of the apostles. The Romney name is Mormon royalty.

I receive the debate at 8:00AM Central in Meet the Press’ time slot.

I checked DirectTV last night to make certain, and again tonight. Still shows 8:00AM, so I will set my alarm to make sure I don’t miss it.

I know on the Sunday Talk Show thread, several members don’t receive MTP until an hour later. This could prove interesting. to say the least....lol.
