Doubly misleading, since the limiting factor on Prius sales was that their first year, that was all they sent to the United States. There were year-long waiting lists for the car. And of course, Prius had sold a lot more cars in Japan; Volt’s worldwide sales for the 1st year aren’t close to the Prius numbers.

I believe most of the Volt sales were “Fleet Buys” by Govt. agencies and GE.

The Public Utilities Commission here is switching from Chevys to Fords. Fiestas I think.

This is the biggest bunch of BS I ever read. You cannot compare sales numbers 12 years apart. Fuel prices were low back then making the Prius less desirable than a Volt would be today. Also I don't remember first gen Prius cars bursting into flames so that there was sales growth in future years. I don't think the Volt enjoys such reliability issues. I bet sales go down after all the phony Fleet sales are over.

after flee sales are deducted the real sale number will probably be in the hundreds.
these cars must have zero resale value.

Yeah, but all 8,000 Volts sold have been recalled. Have 100% of Priuses been recalled? Hmmm....

Folks,
In the next week or so at the NAIAS, the 2013 Fusion is supposed to have it's debut.
What we know from the web.
* It will use the very good handling "Ford Mondeo" Chassis ( possibly new or upgraded )
* It will be 4 or 5 star crash Mulally will demand it.
* It will get 10 to 20% better fuel economy, (again Mulally demands ) the green car blogs are rumoring 48 mpg in the city for the Hybrid.
* It will have a good looking skin ergo the "EVOS" Show-car
>
Here is the EVOS of which it will get it's DNA
IMHO this Fusion will make the Volt about as appealing as Rosanne Barr...
