Newt Gingrich routinely fields questions during his campaign stops and during the event showcasing Art Laffer's endorsement, a woman who had been sititing on stage behind him asked Gingrich for clarification about President Obama's country of birth.

"All I can report is the state of Hawaii has certified that he was born there," Gingrich continued.
Gesturing to his wife beside him, he said, "We both were with a taxi driver one day who showed us the hospital. There is every reason to believe he is a citizen of the United States. The fact that he's already a terrible president, we don't have to go beyond that and try to find something beyond that."

I got them mixed up. Alito was the one who didn’t attend the ex parte meeting; Scalia was the one who implied to Orly Taitz that he had never heard of the eligibility cases.
My apologies.
Jonty, you’re a good egg, and I can’t tell you how many of your posts I have read and enjoyed. You contribute a lot to any discussion. I think you’re a bit off on this one, however, for the following reason: people don’t like to be lied to and deceived. The average person hates it, in fact. Obama is a Malignant Narcissist. This means that he lies as a form of being. Iow, take away his lies, and he doesn’t even exist.
He has told more lies, specifically, about his nativity than Uncle Remus told about Brer Rabbit. Due to the MSM covering for him, most people aren’t aware of how many lies Obama has told. When people are made aware of the facts, it doesn’t help Obama. Rather, it plants doubts, suspicion, distrust and dislike in people’s minds. They want to know the truth, but more than that they want to know why this guy lied to them.
Bringing attention to Obama’s lies is a very productive line of attack against him. His hardcore supporters will never care, so they are not the issue. The large block of general voters is. The more they learn about Obama’s pathological lies, the less they like and trust him. Spreading the word on this issue advances that cause, and will help defeat him in the long run.
I’ve shown on my blog through actual experiments trying to replicate the “seal” shown on the photo that FActcheck allegedly took (I say “allegedly” because the date-stamp doesn’t match Factcheck’s story, nor do the shadows match the time-stamp) that there is no way that “seal” could have been on that paper when they photographed it, because the angle of the fold and the camera’s angle, when replicated in real life, distorts a similar circle so it appears far different than what is on the Factcheck photo.
IOW, Factcheck knew that what they had was not certified and they Photoshopped a seal onto the scanned image of the photograph.
See http://butterdezillion.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/did-factcheck-help-forge-the-colb/
I have invited anybody to show me a replication of a non-distorted “seal” like Factcheck’s, with the same fold and camera angle that is shown in that photo. So far nobody has done it, and in my blog post I show how it is physically impossible for them to replicate that - based on my own photos from real-life experiments.
All you are doing now is trying to get me to surrender also.
NEVER!
Yeah, I’m familiar with him and your description fits. He does, however, provide an opportunity to debunk what some people who haven’t been paying attention might not yet be aware of.
And of course, if anybody brings up something where I’ve been in error I have to correct my error. I mixed up Scalia and Alito. Alito boycotted the ex parte meeting with Obama and Scalia implied to Taitz that he was unaware of the eligibility cases, rather than the other way around. I don’t know why I keep confusing those 2 guys. No harm done, as long as somebody catches the mistake and I can correct it. That’s why public scrutiny is vital to having accurate results - which is also why both Obama and the entire government establishment refuses to submit the actual genuine records to public scrutiny.
I appreciate your compliment.
I know Obama, Soros, MSM, every left-wing organization imaginable, has told more lies and covered up anything and everything even remotely implicatable about Obama. We know this.
If the American people, in general, were interested in Obama’s lies, no amount of money spent could keep it covered up. Unfortunately, most people do not understand how serious America is in trouble. They are incapable of connecting America’s loss of standing with the bad practices it has adopted. That is why the MSM deliberate disinterest in Obama’s real identity and real life is so easily covered up.
We know, and I’m sure we can agree, that if Obama had been a Republican, we would know everything about the guy. But because he is a communist, the MSM finds it within its interest to know nothing, see nothing, and speak nothing.
I don’t disagree with exposing him as much as possible. I just don’t expect it to be an effective tactic in removing him from office.
Shoulda woulda coulda said,
I mixed up the name; it was Alito rather than Scalia who refused to meet in the ex parte meeting.
Why do you suppose Alito refused to meet?
And I’m still waiting for an answer to my question as to whether Judge Roberts refusing to hear any eligibility cases if he had been aware that Obama released a forged COLB (and later a forged, non-certified supposed long-form) would make you question his faithfulness to the Constitution. We seemed to sort of skip that issue...
As I said to FF, what I say is subject to public scrutiny and if somebody shows me an error I correct it. That’s why public scrutiny is critical for accurate results. It’s also why Obama has refused to allow public scrutiny of his actual records. Seems that some “zealots” capture the falsehood of photoshopped seals or the wrong seal showing up on a supposedly certified long-form and then that falsehood becomes part of their very premise for their argument. All while Obama refuses to correct himself; he still stands by 2 blatant forgeries while the whole world lets him.
I notice you left out mentioning Justice Thomas, coward, from your statement. I wonder why?
The truth is the truth no matter how many billions of people believe otherwise. I’m proud to be a conservative, and a Constitutionalist, because we adhere to the truth. Let liberals distort and bear false witness in the name of growing power.
I swear, the times we live in simply boggle my mind. We truly have a case of the emperor with no clothes, and the fear and discomfort is more palpable than a corporate bigshot wishin everyone “happy holidays” because everyones afraid of the C word.
Wake up, GOP! Trump’s numbers exploded when he showed the courage to speak on this topic.
As for you, C Edmund Wright, I can hardly think of a better name than what I already stated. May your chains rest lightly upon you.
You have more patience in your pinky than I have in ten years of hard trying. ;) And let me just say that I for one have learned more from your painstaking research than from almost anyone else posting on this issue. As long as you know who the poster is, then of course you can provide as much info as you want. It won’t phase him [nothing phases an Obot] but as you said, others can and do benefit.
Thank you.
Actually, I did mention Thomas in at least one post. He and Scalia are the two sitting justices I respect most and Bork is one who should have been who I respect. When I am torn on a Constitutional issue I am likely to be persuaded by their opinions.
Thus, the tone of your post has proven me correct in my “sweeping generalization” that the birther crowd hurts its own cause because the majority of them seem strident and act like horses asses. I have admitted that I am torn on the issue and can see reasoning on both sides of the NBC issue. I am leaving out the citizenship issue because I have no way of authenticating the Hawaii COLB so I put that issue aside, with doubts.
Thus, I ask for living scholars of good reputation who agree with the birther view of NBC. All I get are insults and and folks claiming I am some kind of anti Constitutionalist or an Obama troll.
Birther behavior - in general - and in general means most but not all - is much like the angry old preacher who had in his sermon notes: “This point is weak, so bang the lecturn hard and yell.”
And no, Trumps numbers did not explode purely for the birther issue. That was part of it, but most of it was that he was attacking Obama on a lot of issues. His relevance shrank to nothing when he focused purely on the birther issue almost overnight.
You and he mis read that badly.
You made a succession of excellent points. My only tweak is in whether, if they actually knew about Obama’s lies, people would care. It’s easy not to care about something you know nothing about. Once informed, some would still not care. Others, though, would be very concerned. The degree to which they had been misled would certainly set all kinds of thoughts in motion—none of them helpful to Obama.
I agree w you: none of this will remove Obama from office per se. But it will drop his numbers in Nov, and that, at this point, is probably the most we can hope for.
You and I are in agreement. By raising doubt, it does hurt him electorally. Which does count for something.
By doing that and connecting that doubt with Democratic seats, it will also hurt the Democrat’s chances.
That is a useful strategy.
Let me assure you if you wait on an answer, it's not because I don't have it. It's because you are way down my priority list. As for the COLB, I have not skipped it - I have doubts about that issue - but have no way of sorting it out. Thus, I focus on the NBC issue not as a dodge - but simply it's an issue where we don't have to rely on an investigative reporter to flesh out. Meanwhile, I am open to the NBC issue if someone can show me anyone who is still alive and of merit who agrees with you. I really am open to it. But notice that unlike you, I don't sit around tapping my foot with a smart ass "HMMMMM" assuming you don't have the answer.

Do American Thinker and Rush Limbaugh, with both of whom you claim to have a connection, know you run around FR insulting people? Or do you, like Christoforo (of Ocean Marketing) just have a really warped concept of PR?
That's reasonable theory, and it may be true. I do not think this works if the candidates for office raise it however. This is one of those things that needs to be raised by surrogates and others IMO.
We are indeed in agreement. Let’s hope Nov 5 finds us deliciously celebrating Obama’s defeat. Till then, keep on posting. I read your comments whenever I come upon them. :)
It is well within your rights to butt into my conversations with other posters, but I find it very strange that you do.
And why do you see the sharpness of the debate only coming in one direction? Clearly I was responding snark for snark. I should not do it perhaps, but while I often respond - I very rarely initiate. (and that I should never do)
And this is not PR - this is a debate forum.
But again, your interest in my conversations with others is really unusual.
If I claimed to be a featured writer for American Thinker and a “ghost contributor” [Really? Really??] to Rush Limbaugh, then yes, I’d consider my posts on FR to be PR. If I ran around insulting good, patriotic conservatives, how would that reflect well on the people w whom I claim an affiliation?
Answer: it would reflect very negatively.
As to why I comment on your posts, it’s simple. They are remarkably immature and in some cases obnoxious. Which again, if you really do write for both AT and Limbaugh, is a very bizarre way of representing those connections. If I were Rush, or had a stake in AT, I would NOT want you representing me.
