Dictatorial countries require people to show up as mourners. It is their way of showing how great their dead dictator was.
The same will happen when Chavez dies, when Castro dies, etc.

CBS is outright lying. They are LYING to the American People that this man was loved, and that what is being seen is true, sincere grief. They are not reporting that North Korea is 80% phony show, and this is no different. They are not reporting that actresses are being put into Army uniforms, put to the front of the lines along the roads, then cry and are filmed, while a representative spokesperson for them sobs before the camera. And that others who are not acting professionals are told in no uncertain terms they MUST CRY and do so vigorously, or they will be punished by their local Party units, with possibly severe reprecussions. The fact they are witholding this fundamental information in fact of what the true situation is in Pyongyang means they are violating fundamental rules of reporting and journalism. I am not surprised, but I am disgusted with them. All over Asia over here (except China), the reporting is matter of fact that this is all just another big North Korean staged show...because, regarding the journalists and outlets out here: a) they pay attention, b) they have seen it before, c) they do not have a domestic agenda to brainwash their viewership into accepting communist regimes. Truly the US now smacks of the worst days of USSR controlled propaganda. Go outside the US media zone, people, to get the TRUTH, that is all I can say. CNN was horrid and lying through their teeth, giving no context at all to today. They said the people were grieving and nary a commentator noted what North Korean defectors and North Korean watchers, skilled in YEARS of it, are saying all over South Korean and Japanese TV about this phenomenon during the funeral in Pyongyang.

Hope it's not one of those Yeshisassisfat deaths again. He's dead, nope, he's alive.

one can hope that Fidel and Kim are merrily roasting in hell right now.... forever
meanwhile their countries remain mired in desperate squalor and poverty, demented oppression, and chokehold military dictatorships....

Me too. Wired all our copper window screens up, and could pull in Radio Albania (at the time the “voice’ of the chicoms). The hallicrafters are still around in places- you gotta look, and have some tubes handy.

I remember Radio Albania, and also the familiar faux-Midwestern news anchor voices at Radio Moscow, pitching the latest agriculture report, telling of America’s latest setback in Vietnam, or introducing the evening Jazz program. But back in the good old days of the Cold War, there was nothing quite like Radio Tirana: it was like taking a graduate class in Propaganda 101. I suspect Obama has the old air check tapes in a drawer somewhere.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Hussein Obama is going to try to take the credit for this one too.
He’s got to shore up the Cuban refugee vote.
